Taiga Sounds has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Fragments of Paradise. The album features the film’s original music composed by Osei Essed (Crater, Saint X, Late Bloomers, Katrina Babies, How to Survive a Pandemic & Saul Simon MacWilliams (Gleason, Chasing Coral, King in the Wilderness, Love, Antosha, Jim: The James Foley Story). Fragments of Paradise is directed by KD Davison and centers on Jonas Mekas, a visionary who dared to seek beauty in the mundane and is hailed as the ‘godfather’ of avant-garde cinema. The movie is crafted from thousands of hours of his personal film diaries and celebrates a cinematic pioneer, featuring Martin Scorsese, John Lennon, Andy Warhol, Jim Jarmusch and other 20th century luminaries.

Your Friend, Memphis is directed by David P. Zucker and centers on Memphis DiAngelis, a young man in his early 20s, living in Austin, Texas, who was born with cerebral palsy and has dealt with a lack of acceptance growing up because of his condition.

Drawing Number One has released a soundtrack album for the HBO documentary King in the Wilderness. The album features the film’s original music composed by Saul Simon MacWilliams (Gleason, Chasing Coral, Jim: The James Foley Story, The China Hustle). Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, The Good Doctor) served as the project’s music director. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. King in the Wilderness is directed by Peter Kunhardt and chronicles the final chapters of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life, revealing a conflicted leader who faced an onslaught of criticism from both sides of the political spectrum.
‘Chasing Coral’ Soundtrack Released
Drawing Number One has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Chasing Coral. The album features the film’s original music composed by Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, Beasts of No Nation, The Little Hours, Atypical) and Saul Simon MacWilliams (Gleason, Becoming Warren Buffet). Also included is the original song Tell Me How Long written by Romer and Teddy Geiger and performed by Kristen Bell (click here to learn more about the track). Chasing Coral is directed by Jeff Orlowski and follows a team of divers, photographers and scientists who set out on an ocean adventure to discover why Coral reefs around the world are vanishing at an unprecedented rate.

Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi action adventure War for the Planet of the Apes directed by Matt Reeves and starring Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller, Karin Konoval and Terry Notary. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Jurassic World, Doctor Strange, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star Trek) who previously scored Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Also opening wide is the horror thriller Wish Upon directed by John R. Leonetti and starring Joey King, Ryan Phillippe, Ki Hong Lee, Mitchell Slaggert, Shannon Purser, Sydney Park, Kevin Hanchard and Sherilyn Fenn. Expected to top the weekend box office is the action thriller Jason Bourne directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones. The film’s original music is composed by John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, Happy Feet) who previously scored the first original three films in the series and David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Nice Guys, The Forbidden Kingdom). ‘Gleason’ Soundtrack Released
Drawing Number One has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Gleason. The album features the film’s original music composed by Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, Beasts of No Nation, Digging for Fire) and Saul Simon MacWilliams (Jim: The James Foley Story). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Gleason directed by Clay Tweel (Finders Keepers) goes inside the life of Steve Gleason, the former New Orleans Saints defensive back who, at the age of 34, was diagnosed with ALS and given a life expectancy of two to five years. The documentary premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on Friday, July 2, by Open Road Films before premiering on Amazon later this year.
