Drawing Number One has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Chasing Coral. The album features the film’s original music composed by Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, Beasts of No Nation, The Little Hours, Atypical) and Saul Simon MacWilliams (Gleason, Becoming Warren Buffet). Also included is the original song Tell Me How Long written by Romer and Teddy Geiger and performed by Kristen Bell (click here to learn more about the track). The soundtrack is now available on iTunes, where you can also check out audio samples. Chasing Coral is directed by Jeff Orlowski and follows a team of divers, photographers and scientists who set out on an ocean adventure to discover why Coral reefs around the world are vanishing at an unprecedented rate.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (July 14, 2017)
Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi action adventure War for the Planet of the Apes directed by Matt Reeves and starring Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller, Karin Konoval and Terry Notary. The film’s original music is composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Jurassic World, Doctor Strange, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star Trek) who previously scored Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Also opening wide is the horror thriller Wish Upon directed by John R. Leonetti and starring Joey King, Ryan Phillippe, Ki Hong Lee, Mitchell Slaggert, Shannon Purser, Sydney Park, Kevin Hanchard and Sherilyn Fenn. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie by Hey Violet, Grace Mitchell, Wayfarers & more (click here for the full details). Kristen Bell has recorded an original song for the documentary Chasing Coral. The track, entitled Tell Me How Long, is written by the film’s co-composer Dan Romer (Beasts of the Southern Wild, Beasts of No Nation, Digging for Fire, Gleason) and Teddy Geiger. The film is directed by Jeff Orlowski and follows a team of divers, photographers and scientists who set out on an ocean adventure to discover why Coral reefs around the world are vanishing at an unprecedented rate.
Dan Romer Scoring Jeff Baena’s ‘The Little Hours’ & ‘Chasing Coral’
Dan Romer is composing the music for the upcoming comedy The Little Hours. The film is written and directed by Jeff Baena (Life After Beth, Joshy) and stars Alison Brie, Dave Franco, Kate Micucci, Aubrey Plaza, John C. Reilly and Molly Shannon. The movie follows a young servant fleeing from his master who takes refuge at a dysfunctional convent in medieval Tuscany. Plaza is also producing the project with
Liz Destro (Life of Crime, Yoga Hosers, About Cherry) for Destro Films. The Little Hours will premiere next month at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.
