Maisie Music Publishing has released a soundtrack album for the Netflix documentary My Octopus Teacher. The album features the film’s original music composed by Kevin Smuts (Trouble in Lemur Land, Saving Sirga: Journey into the Heart of a Lion). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music services. My Octopus Teacher is directed by Craig Foster and follows the filmmaker as he forges an unusual friendship with an octopus living in a South African kelp forest, learning as the animal shares the mysteries of her world.

Premiering tonight is the Showtime docu-series The Reagans directed and executive produced by Matt Tyrnauer about the rise and reign of America’s ultimate power couple, Ronald & Nancy Reagan. The show’s original music is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, His Dark Materials, The Crown, Home, Bad Boys for Life) who previously scored Tyrnauer’s features Studio 54 and Where’s My Roy Cohn?. Premiering on Wednesday, November 18, is the documentary Crazy, Not Insane directed and produced by Alex Gibney about Dr. Dorothy Otnow Lewis, a psychiatrist who has dedicated her career to studying murderers and seeking answers as to why people kill. Will Bates (Unbelievable, Away, I Origins, The Magicians, The Looming Tower, Nightflyers) who has previously scored numerous of Gibney’s documentaries has composed the film’s original music. The movie, which premiered at this year’s Copenhagen International Documentary Festival and also screened at the 2020 Venice Film Festival will debut in the U.S. exclusively on HBO and HBO Max.
‘Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey’ Soundtrack Album Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for the Netflix original film Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey have been revealed. The album features the songs from the musical performed by Usher feat. Kiana Ledé, Ricky Martin, Marisha Wallace, as well as the movie’s cast. Also included is a score suite by the film’s composer John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf). Harvey Mason Jr. serves as the project’s executive music producer. The soundtrack is being released by Atlantic Records today and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey is directed by David E. Talbert and stars Forest Whitaker, Keegan-Michael Key, Anika Noni Rose, Phylicia Rashad, Hugh Bonneville and Madalen Mills. The movie follows a once-joyful toymaker who – decades after his trusted apprentice betrayed him – finds new hope when his kind and curious granddaughter comes into his life.
Alex Geringas to Score Netflix’s ‘Arlo the Alligator Boy’ Movie and TV Series
Netflix announced today that Alex Geringas (Woody Woodpecker, Impractical Jokers, Trolls: The Beat Goes On!) is composing the original music for the upcoming animated musical Arlo the Alligator Boy. The film is directed by Ryan Crego and features the voices of Michael J. Woodard, Mary Lambert, Michael “Flea” Balzary, Annie Potts, Tony Hale, Brett Gelman, Jonathan Van Ness, Haley Tju, Jennifer Coolidge and Vincent Rodriguez III. The movie tells the story of a wide-eyed boy, who is half human and half alligator, who learns that he is from New York City and decides to leave his sheltered life in the swamp and search for his long lost father. Blake Lemons will serve as the project’s supervising producer.
Anna Hauss’ Song ‘I Can’t Remember Love’ from Netflix’s ‘The Queen’s Gambit’ Released
Maisie Music Publishing has released the song I Can’t Remember Love from the Netflix limited series The Queen’s Gambit. The track, which is featured in the sixth episode of the show, is written and performed by Anna Hauss & Robert Wienröder and features lyrics by executive producer William Horberg. ‘The Life Ahead’ Soundtrack Album to Be Released
Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the drama The Life Ahead (La vita davanti a sé). The album features the original score from the film composed by Academy Award winner Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Judy, City of Angels, Message in a Bottle). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, November 13 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. As previously reported, WM Italy has released the film’s original song Io sì (Seen) written by Diane Warren and performed by Laura Pausini last month. The Life Ahead is directed by Edoardo Ponti and stars Sophia Loren, Ibrahima Gueye, Renato Carpentieri, Massimiliano Rossi, Abril Zamora, Diego Iosif Pirvu and Babak Karimi.
‘The Crown’ Season 4 Soundtrack Album Details
Sony Classical will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series The Crown. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s fourth season composed by Martin Phipps (Woman in Gold, War & Peace, The Honourable Woman, The Aftermath, Peaky Blinders, Harry Brown).) who previously scored Season 3, for which he received an Emmy Award nomination. The soundtrack is expected to be released digitally next week (click here to stream/download the album). A CD version is set to come out on November 20 and is now available for pre-order (as an import) on Amazon. The label has previously released three soundtrack albums featuring Rupert Gregson-Williams’ & Lorne Balfe’s music from Season 1 and Season 2 and Phipps’ score from Season 3.

Dan the Automator (Booksmart, Control, Holidate) is the composer of the new Netflix original series Dash & Lilly. The show is created by Joe Tracz and stars Midori Francis, Austin Abrams, Dante Brown, Troy Iwata . The romantic comedy is based on the New York Times bestseller Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares and follows the title characters as they trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations all across New York City, finding they have more in common with each other than they would have expected.

Premiering tonight is the new Showtime original series Moonbase 8 created by Fred Armisen, Jonathan Krisel, Tim Heidecker & John C. Reilly and starring Armisen, Heidecker and Reilly themselves. The show’s original music is composed by Steven Drozd of The Flaming Lips who made his scoring debut on the comedy. The A24 production centers on three astronauts stationed at NASA’s Moon Base Simulator in a remote part of the Arizona desert as they encounter many obstacles including loneliness, self-doubt and their own incompetence. Alan Ari Lazar (An American Crime, The Most Hated Woman in America, Holiday in the Wild, Gangster’s Paradise: Jerusalema) has recently scored the new Netflix original film The Princess Switch: Switched Again. The movie is directed by Mike Rohl and stars Vanessa Hudgens, Sam Palladio, Suanne Braun and Nick Sagar. The sequel to 2018’s original The Princess Switch film (scored by Terry Frewer) follows Duchess Margaret as she unexpectedly inherits the throne to Montenaro and her double Stacy who has to save the day before a new lookalike foils their plans.
