MovieScore Media has released a soundtrack album for the Dutch-Flemish Netflix original film The Claus Family (De Familie Claus). The album features the movie’s original music composed by Anne-Kathrin Dern (The Jade Pendant, Fearless, The Legend of the War Horse, Help, I Shrunk My Parents). Also included is the original song Still Here written and performed by Pommelien Thijs (who also appears in the film) and produced by Dern. Big Branch Music has announced a soundtrack album for the Netflix original documentary Athlete A. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Rome, The Biggest Little Farm, Carnivale, Pollock, Monk, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 4 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music services. Athlete A is directed by Bonni Cohen & Jon Shenk and focuses on the gymnasts who survived USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar’s abuse and the reporters who exposed USAG’s toxic culture. The movie, which recently received a Critic’s Choice Award for Best Sports Documentary, features interviews with NCAA gymnast Maggie Nichols, Olympic bronze medalist Jamie Dantzscher and former gymnast Rachael Denhollander.

The album features the movie’s original score composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf, Hocus Pocus, Iron Man 2, Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty, The Greatest Showman). Atlantic Records has previously released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie, as well as a score suite. Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey is directed by David E. Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton’ to Feature Music by Kris Bowers
Kris Bowers (Green Book, Dear White People, Mrs. America, When They See Us) is the composer of the new Netflix original series Bridgerton. The show is created by Chris Van Dusen and stars Phoebe Dynevor, Regé-Jean Page, Golda Rosheuvel, Jonathan Bailey, Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie, Ruby Barker, Nicola Coughlan, Sabrina Bartlett, Adjoa Andoh, Polly Walker, Ruth Gemmell, Bessie Carter, Harriet Cains, as well as Julie Andrews as the voice of Lady Whistledown. The drama is inspired by Julia Quinn’s best-selling novels and revolves around the eight close-knit siblings of the Bridgerton family as they look for love and happiness in London high society.
Rupert Gregson-Williams to Score Netflix’s ‘Back to the Outback’
Netflix has announced today that Rupert Gregson-Williams (Aquaman, Wonder Woman, The Legend of Tarzan, Hacksaw Ridge, The Crown) will compose the original score for the upcoming animated film Back to the Outback. The movie marks the directorial debuts of editor Clare Knight (Kung Fu Panda trilogy, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part) & writer Harry Cripps (Penguin Bloom, The Magic Pudding) and features the voice talent of Isla Fisher, Eric Bana, Guy Pearce, Miranda Tapsell, Angus Imrie, Keith Urban, Rachel House, Celeste Barber, Aislinn Derbez, Diesel Cash La Torraca, Wayne Knight, Lachlan Ross Power and Jacki Weaver, as well as Tim Minchin who is also contributing original songs. The animated feature follows a ragtag group of Australia’s deadliest creatures as they plot a daring escape from their zoo to the Outback, a place where they’ll fit in without being judged for their scales and fangs.

Maisie Music Publishing has released the original song The Spirit of Christmas from Chris Columbus’ Netflix original film The Christmas Chronicles 2. The track is written by Steven Van Zandt (who previously penned songs for Columbus’ Home Alone 2: Lost in New York and Nine Months) and is performed by lead actor Kurt Russell and Darlene Love. Premiering tomorrow, November 23, is the FX and BBC limited series Black Narcissus developed by Amanda Coe based on the novel of the same title by Rumer Godden and starring Gemma Arterton, Alessandro Nivola, Diana Rigg, Aisling Franciosi, Jim Broadbent, Rosie Cavaliero, Patsy Ferran, Karen Bryson, Nila Aalia, Kulvinder Ghir, Chaneil Kular, Gina McKee, Soumil Malla, Dipika Kunwar,and Gianni Gonsalves. The full details of the soundtrack album for the Netflix original film The Prom have been revealed. The album features all the songs from the movie written by Matthew Sklar (with lyrics by Chad Beguelin) and performed by cast members including Meryl Streep, James Corden, Nicole Kidman, Keegan-Michael Key, Jo Ellen Pellman, Ariana DeBose, Kerry Washington, Andrew Rannells, Kevin Chamberlin, Nathaniel J. Potvin, Nico Greetham, Logan Riley and Sofia Deler. A first track (Tonight Belongs to You) was released last month and the original song Wear Your Crown written by Sklar, Beguelin, Adam Anders & Peer Astrom and performed by Streep, DeBose, Pellman, Washington & Kidman will be coming out tomorrow. The full soundtrack will be released digitally on December 4 by Sony Masterworks and is now available for pre-order here. Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch Scoring Matthijs van Heijningen Jr.’s ‘The Forgotten Battle’
This week, Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch (Rocks, Only You, Tiger Orange) is recording her score for the upcoming Dutch historical drama The Forgotten Battle (De Slag om de Schelde). The film is directed by Matthijs van Heijningen (The Thing) and stars Gijs Blom, Susan Radder, Jamie Flatters and Tom Felton. The movie centers on the bloody but crucial battle (known as the Battle of the Scheldet) that claimed ten thousand lives during World War II, but secured supply lines for the Allied forces’ push to liberate Europe from Nazi Germany. Paula van der Oest (The Bay of Silence, Black Butterflies) wrote the screenplay.

Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original film Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. The album features the movie’s original music written by Grammy Award-winning saxophonist and composer Branford Marsalis (The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, Once in the Life). The soundtrack is set to be released digitally and physically on December 18, 2020 and is now available for pre-order here. Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is directed by George C. Wolfe and stars Viola Davis, Chadwick Boseman, Colman Domingo, Michael Potts, Glynn Turman, Dusan Brown and Taylour Paige. The movie based on Pulitzer Prize winner August Wilson’s play is set in 1927 as tensions rise when the trailblazing Mother of the Blues and her band gather at a Chicago recording studio.
