Big Branch Music has announced a soundtrack album for the Netflix original documentary Athlete A. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Rome, The Biggest Little Farm, Carnivale, Pollock, Monk, An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 4 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music services. Athlete A is directed by Bonni Cohen & Jon Shenk and focuses on the gymnasts who survived USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar’s abuse and the reporters who exposed USAG’s toxic culture. The movie, which recently received a Critic’s Choice Award for Best Sports Documentary, features interviews with NCAA gymnast Maggie Nichols, Olympic bronze medalist Jamie Dantzscher and former gymnast Rachael Denhollander.

Jeff Beal has composed the original music for the upcoming Netflix documentary Athlete A. The film is directed by Bonni Cohen & Jon Shenk (The Rape of Europa, Audrie & Daisy) and explores Larry Nassar’s systematic abuse of young women on the USA Gymnastics team. The movie follows the team of investigative journalists from The Indianapolis Star newspaper who exposed the abuse led by Steve Berta, Marisa Kwiatkowski, Mark Alesia, and Tim Evans. Serin Marshall, Jen Sey and Julie Parker Benello are producing the project. Beal (House of Cards, Rome, Monk, Carnivale, Pollock, The Biggest Little Farm) has previously scored Cohen’s & Shenk’s last feature An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power.
