‘Good Day Sunshine Theme’ from Netflix’s ‘Eric’ Released
Netflix Music has released the Good Day Sunshine Theme from the new Netflix limited series Eric. The theme song of the fiction children’s television show of the same name is written and produced by Tim Minchin (Matilda the Musical, Groundhog Day The Musical, Back to the Outback) and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to the track after the jump. As previously reported, a full soundtrack album featuring Keefus Ciancia’s original score from the show has also been released today. Eric is created by Abi Morgan and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Gaby Hoffmann, McKinley Belcher III, Dan Fogler, Clarke Peters, Jeff Hephner, DIvan Morris Howe, Wade Allain-Marcus, David Denman, and Bamar Kane.

Sony Music Masterworks & Milan Records have announced the details of the soundtrack album for the Netflix original film Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical. The album features the Grammy Award-nominated songs from the original West End production written by Tim Minchin (Groundhog Day The Musical), newly recorded by the movie’s cast, including Alisha Weir (who stars in the title role), Emma Thompson, Lashana Lynch, Andrea Riseborough and Stephen Graham. Also included are ten tracks from film’s original score by composed by Christopher Nightingale (Pride). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 18 and physically on December 9. Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for the Netflix animated film Back to the Outback. The album features the film’s original score composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan, Abominable, Over the Hedge, The Crown). Also included are the songs from the movie performed by Tim Minchin, Evie Irie and Thelma Plum. A first song (Hello Word performed by Evie Irie) was released last week and a second song (Beautiful Ugly by Minchin feat. Irie) is premiering today. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 10 and will be available to stream/download here. Rupert Gregson-Williams to Score Netflix’s ‘Back to the Outback’
Netflix has announced today that Rupert Gregson-Williams (Aquaman, Wonder Woman, The Legend of Tarzan, Hacksaw Ridge, The Crown) will compose the original score for the upcoming animated film Back to the Outback. The movie marks the directorial debuts of editor Clare Knight (Kung Fu Panda trilogy, The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part) & writer Harry Cripps (Penguin Bloom, The Magic Pudding) and features the voice talent of Isla Fisher, Eric Bana, Guy Pearce, Miranda Tapsell, Angus Imrie, Keith Urban, Rachel House, Celeste Barber, Aislinn Derbez, Diesel Cash La Torraca, Wayne Knight, Lachlan Ross Power and Jacki Weaver, as well as Tim Minchin who is also contributing original songs. The animated feature follows a ragtag group of Australia’s deadliest creatures as they plot a daring escape from their zoo to the Outback, a place where they’ll fit in without being judged for their scales and fangs.
Tim Minchin to Score DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Larrikins’
Tim Minchin has been tapped to score DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature Larrikins. The film is based on an original idea written by Harry Cripps (Supernova) and tells the story of an uptight bilby (a desert-dwelling marsupial), who has lived a sheltered life in the safety of his family burrow. When he ventures out and becomes privy to a dangerous secret, he finds himself launched on a musical adventure across the mystical and untamed Australian outback. Christina Steinberg (Rise of the Guardians, National Treasure) is producing the project. DreamWorks has announced that Minchin will likely take on a larger creative role in addition to writing the music and lyrics for the film. Minchin is best known for co-writing Matilda the Musical which was awarded a 2012 Olivier Award for Best New Musical and is currently nominated for 12 Tony Awards including Best Musical Score. Larrikins marks the Australian comedian/musician’s first major studio film project. No release date has been announced yet.
