Steven Price has confirmed in a recent interview with Classic FM that is composing the music for the upcoming NBC drama Believe. The show is created by Alfonso Cuarón & Mark Friedman and stars Jake McLaughlin, Johnny Sequoyah, Jamie Chung, Arian Moayed, Kyle MacLachlan and Delroy Lindo. The series follows a young girl with an extraordinary ability and a man sprung from prison who has been tasked with protecting her from the evil elements that hunt her power. Cuaron is also executive producing the Bonanza, Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television production with J.J. Abrams & Bryan Burk (Lost, Star Trek), Jonas Pate and Hans Tobeason. Cuaron has also directed the pilot episode. Price has previously collaborated with the director on last year’s hit sci-fi thriller Gravity and has recently been Academy Award-nominated for his work on the film.

Mateo Messina to Score NBC’s ‘Growing Up Fisher’
Mateo Messina has been tapped to score the upcoming NBC comedy Growing Up Fisher. The show is created by DJ Nash (Up All Night) and stars J.K. Simmons, Jenna Elfman, Eli Barker, Ava Deluca-Verley and Lance Lim. Jason Bateman serves as the show’s narrator. The series follows a 11-year old son who idolizes his blind father and is bemused by his mother’s newfound adolescence. Nash, Bateman and Jim Garavente (Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium) are executive producing the Universal Television and Aggregate Films production. David Schwimmer (Friends, Trust) has directed the pilot episode. Growing Up Fisher is set to premiere this spring on NBC.

Atli Orvarsson Scoring NBC’s ‘Chicago PD’
Atli Orvarsson is scoring the new NBC drama Chicago PD. The show is created by Dick Wolf (Law & Order) & Matt Olmstead (Prison Break, Breakout Kings) and stars Jason Beghe, Sophia Bush, Patrick John Flueger, LaRoyce Hawkins, Archie Kao, Elias Koteas, Jon Seda, Jesse Lee Soffer and Marina Squerciati. The series is a spin-off of NBC’s hit drama Chicago Fire, which the composer whose previous credits include such films as Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Vantage Point and The Mortal Instruments, has been scoring since the first episode. The crime drama follows the men and women of the Chicago Police Department’s District 21, which is made up of two distinctly different groups: the uniformed cops who patrol the beat and go head-to-head with the city’s street crimes and the Intelligence Unit that combats the city’s major offenses.

Premiering on Wednesday, December 4, is the new TNT original series Mob City created by Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Walking Dead) and starring Jon Bernthal, Ed Burns, Neal McDonough and Jeremy Luke. The drama’s original score is composed by Mark Isham (Once Upon a Time, Crash) who has previously collaborated with Darabont on the features The Majestic and The Mist. The show is based on the real-life accounts of the cops and gangsters of Los Angeles in the 1940s and tells the story of the violent crime underbelly of America’s most glamorous city and those who wanted to control it. Soundtrack for NBC’s ‘The Sound of Music’ Live Broadcast Announced
Sony Masterworks has announced a soundtrack release for NBC’s live broadcast of the classic stage musical The Sound of Music. The album features the studio recordings of all the musical numbers performed in the live broadcast, including such songs as The Sound of Music, My Favorite Things, Do-Re-Mi, Sixteen Going on Seventeen and Climb Ev’ry Mountain, all of which are composed by Richard Rodgers and feature lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II. The soundtrack will be released on December 3, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. NBC’s The Sound of Music is a three-hour live production based on the classic Tony Award-winning musical and stars Carrie Underwood as Maria von Trapp, Audra McDonald as Mother Abbess, Stephen Moyer as Capt. Georg von Trapp, Christian Borle as Max Detweiler and Laura Benanti as Elsa Schrader. The television event is executive produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Chicago, Hairspray) and will air on December 5 on NBC.

Snuffy Walden (Friday Night Lights, The West Wing, Under the Dome) has taken over scoring duties this season on ABC’s drama Nashville created by Callie Khouri and starring Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Charles Esten, Jonathan Jackson, Clare Bowen, Powers Boothe and Sam Palladio. The show’s first season was scored by T Bone Burnett and Keefus Ciancia. Buddy Miller has replaced Burnett as the show’s executive music producer. Dave Porter Takes Over Scoring Duties on NBC’s ‘The Blacklist’
Dave Porter has taken over scoring duties on the NBC hit drama The Blacklist. The show is created by Jon Blokenkamp and stars James Spader, Megan Boone, Diego Klattenhoff, Ryan Eggold, Harry Lennix and Parminder Nagra. The series follows an ex-government agent on the FBI’s most wanted list who surrenders with an offer to catch the most wanted terrorists. Bokenkamp (Taking Lives) is also executive producing the Davis Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television production with John Eisendrath (Alias, Felicity), John Davis (Predator, I, Robot, Waterworld), John Fox (Ironside) and Joe Carnahan (The A-Team, Narc). Porter who recently finished scoring AMC’s Breaking Bad is replacing James S. Levine (Glee, Nip/Tuck) who scored the first couple episodes of the series.

Trevor Morris (The Borgias, Immortals, Olympus Has Fallen) is composing the show’s original score. ‘Grimm’ Soundtrack Details
La-La Land Records will release a soundtrack album for the NBC fantasy drama Grimm. The album features selections of the original score from the first two seasons composed by Richard Marvin (U-571, Surrogates, Six Feet Under). The soundtrack will be released on October 22, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Grimm is created by David Greenwalt & Jim Kouf and stars David Giuntoli, Russell Hornsby, Bitsie Tulloch and Silas Weir Mitchell. The second season of the series about a homicide detective who discovers he’s a descendant of hunters who fight supernatural forces was released last month on Blu-ray and DVD. The third season is set to premiere on October 25 and will air every Friday night on ABC.
