Joey Newman to Score NBC’s ‘The Mysteries of Laura’
Joey Newman has been hired to score the upcoming NBC drama The Mysteries of Laura. The show is created by Jeff Rake based on the Spanish-language series Los Misterios de Laura and stars Debra Messing, Josh Lucas, Laz Alonso and Janina Gavankar. The series follows the life and relationships of a female NYPD homicide detective who balances her day job with a crazy family life that includes two unruly twin boys and a soon-to-be ex-husband who just can’t seem to sign the divorce paper. McG (Charlie’s Angels, Terminator: Salvation) has directed the pilot episode and also serves as an executive producer on the Warner Bros. Television production alongside Rake, Greg Berlanti (Brothers & Sisters, Everwood) and Aaron Kaplan (Terra Nova, The Neighbors).
Mateo Messina to Score NBC’s ‘Crossbones’
Mateo Messina has been tapped to score the new NBC adventure drama Crossbones. The show is created by Neil Cross (Luther) and stars John Malkovich, Yasmine Al Massri, Richard Coyle, Claire Foy, David Hoflin, Tracy Ifeachor and Chris Perfetti. The series is is set during the golden age of piracy in the 18th Century and centers on legendary pirate Blackbeard who reigns over a rogue nation of thieves, outlaws and miscreants. Cross is also executive producing the Universal Television production with Walter F. Parkes & Laurie MacDonald (Men in Black, Flight, The Ring), Ted Gold (Three Rivers) and Ciaran Donnelly (Vikings, The Tudors). David Slade (Hard Candy, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) has directed the pilot episode.
Soundtrack for NBC’s ‘Siberia’ Announced
Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the scripted reality series Siberia. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Corey Wallace. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 27, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Siberia is created by Matthew Arnold and follows sixteen reality-show contestants who arrive in a Siberian forest and quickly discover the adventure is not what they signed up for. The series’ first season premiered last summer on NBC and is now available on DVD.

Antoni Komasa-Lazarkiewicz Scoring NBC’s ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ Mini-Series
Antoni Komasa-Lazarkiewicz has composed the original music for the NBC mini-series Rosemary’s Baby. The four-hour adaptation is based on the best-selling novel by Ira Levin and stars Zoe Saldana, Patrick J. Adams, Jason Isaacs and Carole Bouquet. The mini-series directed by Agnieszka Holland follows a young married couple who escapes New York and moves into a Paris apartment with a haunted past and an immeasurable price. James Wong (Final Destination, The One) and Scott Abbott (Queen of the Damned) have adapted the material for television. Joshua D. Maurer (The Hoax), Alixandre Witlin and David A. Stern are executive producing the Lionsgate Television production.
Nathaniel Mechaly Scoring ‘Taxi Brooklyn’
Nathaniel Mechaly is composing the score for the upcoming action series Taxi Brooklyn. The show is based on Luc Besson‘sTaxi feature franchise and stars Chyler Leigh, Jacky Ido, Jennifer Esposito, Ally Walker, James Colby, Bill Heck, Jose Zuniga and Raul Casso. The action comedy centers on the partnership between a streetwise Marseilles-born New York City taxi driver and an intensely driven NYPD detective for whom this immigrant cabbie becomes chauffeur, insider on the streets and unofficial partner. Gary Scott Thompson (Las Vegas, The Fast And The Furious) is executive producing the EuropaCorp Television production with Edouard de Vesinne and Thomas Anargyros.
