Premiering tomorrow, February 3 is the Spectrum Originals series Manhunt: Deadly Games created by Andrew Sodroski and starring Cameron Britton, Jack Huston, Gethin Anthony, Carla Gugino, Arliss Howard, Kelly Jenrette and Judith Light. The show’s original music is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek, The Martian) and Stephanie Economou (Step Up: High Water). Also premiering tomorrow is the HBO docu-series McMillions directed by James Lee Hernandez & Brian Lazarte and executive produced by Mark Wahlberg. Pinar Toprak (Captain Marvel, Krypton, Stargirl, The Angel) has composed the show’s original music. The 6-parter, which centers on the con that allowed one man to rig the results of McDonald’s popular Monopoly game for an entire decade, will air every Monday night on HBO. Jeremy Zuckerman to Score Netflix’s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Live-Action Series

Jeremy Zuckerman has announced that he is set to compose the music for Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The show is based on the animated Nickelodeon series, which aired between 2005 and 2008 and follows the adventures of Aang and his friends who live in world, which is divided into four nations — the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads — each represented by a natural element for which the nation is named. Original series’ creators Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko are developing the live-action adaptation.

Score Album for MTV’s ‘Scream’ TV Series Released

Lakeshore Records has released a score album for the MTV original series Scream. The album features selections of the original score fm the show’s first two seasons composed by Jeremy Zuckerman (The Legend of Korra, Avatar: The Last Airbender). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Columbia and Island Records have previously released two soundtracks featuring songs from the series. Scream is based on Wes Craven’s movie franchise and stars Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor-Klaus, John Karna, Amadeus Serafini, Carlson Young, Kiana Ledé, Santiago Segura and Tracy Middendorf.

Premiering tonight is the new AMC original series Humans created by Jonathan Brackley & Sam Vincent based on the Swedish TV series Real Humans and starring Gemma Chan, Katherine Parkinson, Tom Goodman-Hill, William Hurt, Will Tudor, Rebecca Front and Colin Morgan. The show’s original music is composed by Cristobal Tapia De Veer (Utopia). Humans is set in a parallel present in London where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a Synth – a highly developed, artificially intelligent servant eerily similar to its living counterpart. The show is based on Wes Craven’s horror franchise and stars Bella Thorne, Willa Fitzgerald, Amy Forsyth, John Karna, Carlson Young, Amadeus Serafini, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Amadeus Serafini, Connor Weil, Tracy Middendorf and Jason Wiles. The show follows a gorgeous entitled teen at Lakewood High School who is killed in an apparent crime of passion, following her boyfriend’s murder, which exposes the inner workings of the community’s complex social hierarchy.

Jeremy Zuckerman & Benjamin Wynn to Participate in PlayFest

Jeremy Zuckerman and Benjamin Wynn are participating in the PlayFest in Malaga. The third edition of the Music, Animation and Videogames Festival will feature a concert spotlighting the music of the hit animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender, which the composers scored together. Also featured on the festival program will be another concert for the animated show The Legend of Korra, which Zuckerman has been scoring since 2012. The festival, which is dedicated to one of the fastest growing industries today and will bring together leading artists, composers and companies to participate in master classes, conferences, screenings and concerts, will take place from September 11 to September 14 in Malaga. Also confirmed to participate this year is video game composer Chris Velasco (God of War, Mass Effect 3) and more guests will be announced soon.

Comic-Con 2013 Update

Since our last update on this year’s film music-related events at Comic-Con in San Diego, a couple of additional announcements have been made. Bear McCreary (Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead) has joined the panel The Anatomy of Superhero Film Music: Bringing a Comic Book to Life, which also features such participants as Marco Beltrami and Brian Tyler. It was just announced that the composer will be scoring Marvel’s upcoming superhero TV series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. earlier this week. As previously reported, McCreary will also participate in The Character of Music panel with Jonathan Steinberg from the upcoming Black Sails series. In addition, there will also be a live performance of the original Black Sails score with McCreary playing accordion and hurdy gurdy at a screening event on July 18 at 8:30 p.m. at Reading Cinemas (701 5th Ave). Finally, the composer will also participate in a panel for the sci-fi feature Europa Report with director Sebastián Cordero, producer Ben Browning, actress Karolina Wydra and JPL scientists Steve Vance and Kevin Hand.

‘The Legend of Korra’ – Book One Soundtrack Announced

Nickelodeon and Sony Music Entertainment’s Legacy Recordings will release a soundtrack album for the hit Nickelodeon animated series The Legend of Korra. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Jeremy Zuckerman of The Track Team (Avatar: The Last Airbender). The soundtrack will be released both digitally and physically on July 16, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Legend of Korra created and executive produced by Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko follows the new Avatar named Korra, a 17-year-old headstrong and rebellious girl who continually challenges and bucks tradition on her quest to become a fully realized Avatar in a world where benders are under attack. Book One of The Legend of Korra premiered last year on Nickelodeon and will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on July 9.
