Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, March 15, is the British mini-series Bloodlands created by Chris Brandon, directed by Pete Travis and starring James Nesbitt, Lisa Dwan, Charlene McKenna, Lorcan Cranitch, Ian McElhinney, Lola Petticrew and Chris Walley. The show’s original music is composed by Ruth Barrett (Bodyguard, Collateral, Victoria, Harry Brown, Sanditon). Premiering on Wednesday, March 17, is the Netflix documentary Operation Varsity Blues: The College Admissions Scandal directed by Chris Smith and written by Jon Karmen about Rick Singer, the man at the center of the shocking 2019 college admissions scandal. Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Soul, Watchmen, Mank), Leopold Ross (The Book of Eli, Dispatches from Elsewhere) & Nick Chuba have composed the film’s original score. The only movie opening in theaters nationwide is the live-action/animated feature Tom & Jerry directed by Tim Story and starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Michael Peña, Rob Delaney, Colin Jost and Ken Jeong. The show’s original music is composed by Christopher Lennertz (The Boys, Lost in Space, Sausage Party, Agent Carter, Horrible Bosses, Supernatural). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this month. Check out our previous article for the full album details and to learn more about the Warner Bros. Pictures production, which is also premiering on HBO Max today.

Opening in select theaters today before expanding nationwide on March 12 is the drama The Father co-written and directed by Florian Zeller and starring Anthony Hopkins, Olivia Colman, Mark Gatiss, Rufus Sewell, Imogen Poots and Olivia Williams. Ludovico Einaudi (The Intouchables, This Is England, Samba) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. ‘Cherry’ Soundtrack Album Details

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the crime drama Cherry. The album features the film’s original music composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, Wreck-It-Ralph, X-Men: First Class, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Kong: Skull Island, Big Hero 6). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, February 26 exclusively on Apple Music/iTunes before being added to other digital music services a couple of weeks later. Cherry is directed by Joe & Anthony Russo and stars Tom Holland, Ciara Bravo, Jack Reynor, Michael Rispoli, Jeff Wahlberg, Forrest Goodluck and Michael Gandolfini. The movie chronicles the journey of a disenfranchised young man from Ohio who meets the love of his life, only to risk losing her through a series of bad decisions and challenging life circumstances.

Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, Wreck-It-Ralph, X-Men: First Class, Big Hero 6, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) has recently recorded his score for the upcoming animated feature Ron’s Gone Wrong. The film co-directed by J.P. Vine & Octavio E. Rodriguez is set in a world where walking, talking, digitally connected bots have become children’s best friends and tells the story of an 11-year-old boy who finds that his robot buddy doesn’t quite work. Sarah Smith (Arthur Christmas) co-wrote the screenplay with Peter Baynham (Hotel Transylvania) and is also producing the Locksmith Animation production with Julie Lockhart (Shaun the Sheep Movie, The Pirates! Band of Misfits).
