Sony Classical will release a new soundtrack album for the FX original series Fargo. The album features a selection of the songs from the show’s second season by artists including Fleetwood Mac, Billy Thorpe, The Dramatics, The Chieftains feat. Bon Iver, Bobbie Gentry, Lisa Hannigan, Bobby Womack & more. Also included is the cover version of Didn’t Leave Nobody But the Baby by the show’s creator Noah Hawley and composer Jeff Russo from the first episode of the season. The soundtrack will be on March 25, 2016. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. The label will also release a separate album featuring Russo’s score on the same day. Airing tonight is the Fox television event Grease: LIVE! starring Julianne Hough, Aaron Tveit, Vanessa Hudgens, Carlos PenaVega, Keke Palmer, Andrew Call, David Del Rio, Kether Donohue, Jordan Fisher and Boyz II Men. Republic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the special by Jim Jacobs & Warren Casey, as well as two original tracks written by Tom Kitt & Brian Yorkey and performed by Carly Rae Jepsen and DNCE and an original track written and performed by DNCE. Premiering on Tuesday, February 2, is the FX original series American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson written by Scott Alexander & Larry Karaszewski, executive produced by Ryan Murphy and starring Cuba Gooding Jr., John Travolta, David Schwimmer, Courtney B. Vance, Robert Kardashian, Sarah Paulson and Bruce Greenwood. The show’s original music is composed by Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story, Scream Queens). Weekly TV Music Roundup (January 24, 2016)
Premiering tonight is the revival mini-series of The X-Files created by Chris Carter and starring David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi, as well as guest stars including Joel McHale, Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose. Mark Snow (Millennium, Smallville, Blue Bloods, Ghost Whisperer) who previously scored all episodes of the original series, as well as the two movie adaptations, returns as the composer of the 6-part series. Premiering tomorrow, January 25, is new Fox drama Lucifer based on the DC Comics characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth & Mike Dringenberg, developed by Tom Kapinos and starring Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro and Scarlett Estevez. The show’s original music is composed by Marco Beltrami (The Wolverine, Scream, World War Z, 3:10 to Yuma) and Dennis Smith. FX’s ‘Baskets’ to Feature Music by Andrew Bird
Andrew Bird is composing the score for the new FX original series Baskets. The show is created by Louis C.K., Zach Galifianakis & Jonathan Krisel (Portlandia) and stars Galifianakis himself, alongside Louie Anderson, Martha Kelly, Sabina Sciubba and Ernest Adams. The comedy is set in Bakersfield, California and follows a man who sets out on becoming a professional clown. After failing to get a degree at a prestigious clowning school in Paris, he is stuck with a job at a local rodeo. Louis C.K., Galifianakis & Krisel are also executive producing the project with M. Blair Breard (Louie), Dave Becky (Master of None, Everybody Hates Chris), Marc Gurvitz (According to Jim) and Andrea Pett-Joseph.
Mac Quayle to Score FX’s ‘American Crime Story’
Mac Quayle has signed on to score the upcoming FX original limited series American Crime Story. The first season of the show, entitled The People v. O.J. Simpson, is based on the book The Run of His Life: The People v. O.J. Simpson by Jeffrey Toobin and follows the O.J. Simpson trial told from the perspective of the lawyers. The drama’s cast includes Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J. Simpson, John Travolta, David Schwimmer, Courtney B. Vance as defense attorneys Robert Shapiro, Robert Kardashian as Johnnie Cochran, Sarah Paulson as prosecutor Marcia Clark and Bruce Greenwood as Los Angeles County District Attorney Gil Garcetti. Scott Alexander & Larry Karaszewski (Ed Wood, Big Eyes, The People v. Larry Flynt) have written the scripts.

Premiering on Tuesday, September 15, is the new FX original series The Bastard Executioner created by Kurt Sutter and starring Lee Jones, Stephen Moyer, Katey Sagal, Flora Spencer-Longhurst, Sam Spruell, Sarah Sweeney, Danny Sapani, Darren Evans, Kurt Sutter, Timothy V. Murphy, Sarah White, Ethan Griffiths, Elen Rhys and Brian F. O’Byrne. The show’s original music is composed by Bob Thiele who previously scored FX’s Sons of Anarchy for Sutter. The series centers on a 14th century warrior, whose life is changed when a divine messenger orders him to lay down his sword and lead the life of a journeyman executioner. Soundtrack for FX’s ‘Tyrant’ Released
20th Century Fox Television Records has released a soundtrack album for the FX original series Tyrant. The album features selections from the film’s Emmy Award-nominated original score composed by Academy Award winner Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Capote) and Jeff Danna (The Boondock Saints, Silent Hill), including the Emmy-nominated main titles theme. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Tyrant is created by Gideon Raff and stars Adam Rayner, Jennifer Finnigan, Ashraf Barhom, Noah Silver, Moran Atias, Anne Winters, Salim Daw, Justin Kirk, Fares Fares, Jordana Spiro, Mehdi Dehbi and Alice Krige.

Premiering on Wednesday, July 15 is the TV Land original series The Jim Gaffigan Show created by Gaffigan who also stars in the show alongside Ashley Williams, Adam Goldberg and Michael Ian Black. The show’s original music is composed by Chris Alan Lee (Younger, Mulaney, Better Off Ted). The comedy is inspired by Gaffigan’s real life and chronicles one man’s struggle in New York City to find a balance between fatherhood, stand-up comedy and an insatiable appetite. First Two Songs from FX’s ‘Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll’ Announced
FX Networks will release the first two songs from the upcoming FX original series Sex& Drugs& Rock&Roll. The first track is the main titles songs performed by the early 90’s New York band from the show called The Heathens (feat. Denis Leary), and will be released on July 16. Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll is created by Denis Leary (Rescue Me) who also stars in the series alongside John Corbett, Elizabeth Gillies, Elaine Hendrix and Bobby Kelly.
‘Sons of Anarchy’ Volume 4 Soundtrack Announced
Columbia Records will release a new soundtrack album for the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Sons of Anarchy: Vol. 4 features Ed Sheeran’s song Make It Rain, as well as collaborations between the show’s house band The Forest Rangers and artists including Billy Valentine, Amos Lee, The White Buffalo, Franky Perez, Joshua James, Audra Mae & more. The soundtrack will be released on February 24, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released three different soundtracks for the hit series: Vol. 1, Vol. 2 and Vol. 3. Sons of Anarchy created by Kurt Sutter and starring Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman and Katey Sagal just finished its run with the final episode of the seventh season last night.
