The track written by Talking Heads’ David Byrne &. the film’s composer Daniel Pemberton (Project Hail Mary, Into/Across the Spider-Verse, Enola Holmes, The Man from U.N.C.L.E.) is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. ‘The Twits’ Vinyl Edition Soundtrack Release Announced
Mutant has announced a vinyl release of the soundtrack album for the Netflix original animated film The Twits based on Roald Dahl’s children’s novel, directed by Phil Johnston and starring Johnny Vegas, Margo Martindale, Natalie Portman, Emilia Clarke, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Timothy Simons, Ryan Lopez, Jason Mantzoukas, Alan Tudyk and Nicole Byer. The album features the movie’s original songs written by Talking Heads’ David Byrne and performed by himself and the animated feature’s voice cast, as well as the original score composed by Oli Julian (Sex Education, Renegade Nell, The Full Monty, Breeders, Fackham Hall, Catastrophe, How to Build a Girl). Also included are two previously unreleased demo recordings by Byrne. The limited vinyl edition is scheduled to be released this May and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also find out more about the release.

The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 17 by Netflix Music and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The songs, entitled We’re Not Like Ev’ryone Else, Lullaby & The Problem Is You, are performed by the movie’s voice cast. In addition, he also co-wrote and -performed the end title song Open the Door with Hayley Williams (of the rock band Paramore). David Byrne, Stephanie Hsu & Son Lux to Perform ‘This Is a Life’ from ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’ at Oscars
Executive producers Glenn Weiss, Ricky Kirshner & Molly McNearney announced today that Oscar winner David Byrne, Oscar-nominated actress Stephanie Hsu and music trio Son Lux will perform the Academy Award-nominated song This Is A Life from the Daniels’ Everything Everywhere All at Once at the 95th Oscars, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, on Sunday, March 12, 2023. The track, which is written by Ryan Lott, David Byrne & Mitski, is one of the five nominees in the Original Song category and has been released on the film’s official soundtrack album last April by A24 Music.
‘True Stories’ – The Complete Soundtrack to Be Released
Nonesuch Records will release a new soundtrack album for the 1986 cult classic True Stories directed by David Byrne and starring Byrne himself, John Goodman, Swoosie Kurtz and Spalding Gray. The movie’s complete soundtrack featuring both the songs by Talking Heads and the movie’s score composed by Byrne, as well as tracks by Terry Allen & The Panhandle Mystery Band, Carl Finch, Esteban “Steve” Jordan and Banda Eclipse will receive its first CD and digital release on November 23, 2018. The soundtrack release coincides with the film’s Criterion Collection Blu-ray and DVD release on November 20.
Weekly Film Music Roundup (November 2, 2012)
Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the animated feature Wreck-It-Ralph directed by Rich Moore and featuring the voice talent of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch. The film’s score is composed by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the score, as well as one track by Skrillex who wrote some of the in-game music and other songs featured in the film. Attached to the film is the animated short Paperman, which features an original score by Christophe Beck.
Also opening wide is the drama director Robert Zemeckis and starring Denzel Washington, Kelly Reilly, Don Cheadle, Bruce Greenwood, John Goodman, Melissa Leo and James Badge Dale. The director’s regular musical collaborator Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, The Avengers) has composed the film’s original score. Cannes 2011 Film Music Preview
With the line-up for this year’s Cannes Film Festival announced this past week, we’re going to take a look at a couple of films set to premiere at the festival that haven’t been covered yet on this page. We already reported about three films that are competing at the festival taking place from May 11 to May 22. Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life with music by Alexandre Desplat already has a soundtrack scheduled to come out next month a couple days before the film’s domestic opening. Also, Pedro Almodovar’s The Skin That I Inhabit (La Piel que habito) features music by Alberto Iglesias and is set for a release this fall by Sony Pictures Classics. And the indie drama We Need to Talk About Kevin starring Tilda Swinton and John C. Reilly and scored by Jonny Greenwood is still awaiting a domestic release date.
