Walt Disney Records has announced the official soundtrack album for the Wreck-It-Ralph sequel Ralph Breaks the Internet. The album features the original song A Place Called Slaughter Race written by Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin) and performed in the film by Sarah Silverman & Gal Gadot, a pop version of the track performed by Julia Michaels, the original Zero written and performed by Imagine Dragons (already available as a digital single here). Also included is the film’s original score composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, Big Hero 6, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) who previously scored the original movie. ‘Wreck-It-Ralph’ Wins Annie Award for Best Music
Composer Henry Jackman, Skrillex, Adam Young, Matthew Thiessen, Jamie Houston and Yasushi Akimoto have received the Annie Award in the Music in an Animated Feature Production category for their music for Disney’s animated movie Wreck-It-Ralph. The other contenders in the category were Alexandre Desplat for Rise of the Guardians, Bruce Retief for Adventures in Zambezia, Joel McNeely, Brendan Milburn & Valerie Vigoda for Secret of the Wings, John Powell, Adam Schlesinger & Ester Dean for Ice Age: Continental Drift, John Powell & Cinco Paul for Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, Mark Mothersbaugh for Hotel Transylvania and Patrick Doyle, Mark Andrews & Alex Mandel for Brave. Wreck-It-Ralph also won four other Annies, including Best Animated Feature and Directing in a Feature Production.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the animated feature Wreck-It-Ralph directed by Rich Moore and featuring the voice talent of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch. The film’s score is composed by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the score, as well as one track by Skrillex who wrote some of the in-game music and other songs featured in the film. Attached to the film is the animated short Paperman, which features an original score by Christophe Beck.
Also opening wide is the drama director Robert Zemeckis and starring Denzel Washington, Kelly Reilly, Don Cheadle, Bruce Greenwood, John Goodman, Melissa Leo and James Badge Dale. The director’s regular musical collaborator Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, The Avengers) has composed the film’s original score. Also included is the track Bug Hunt (Noisa Remix) by Skrillex who wrote some of the in-game music for the film. The album features selections from the film’s original score composed by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class, Puss in Boots), as well as music by Grammy-winning electronic music artist Skrillex who wrote the game-play music Bug Hunt, which was remixed for the album by Noisia. Also included on the release is the theme song Sugar Rush performed by Japan’s pop phenomenon AKB48, When Can I See You Again? by Owl City and the end credits song Wreck-It, Wreck-It Ralph by Buckner & Garcia and co-produced with Jamie Houston. The soundtrack will be released on October 30, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The full album details and the album cover art will be posted on this site within the next few weeks. Henry Jackman Scoring Disney’s ‘Wreck-It-Ralph’
Henry Jackman is currently recording his score for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming feature Wreck-It-Ralph. The film is directed by Rich Moore (The Simpsons, Futurama) and follows the behind-the-scenes lives of vintage arcade game characters. The movie’s voice talent include John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch. Phil Johnston (Cedar Rapids) and Jennifer Lee have written the screenplay and Clark Spencer (Bolt, Lilo & Stitch) is producing the project. Jackman has previously scored last year’s Winnie the Pooh feature for Disney, which was also produced by Spencer.
