Henry Jackman is currently recording his score for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming feature Wreck-It-Ralph. The film is directed by Rich Moore (The SimpsonsFuturama) and follows the behind-the-scenes lives of vintage arcade game characters. The movie’s voice talent include John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch. Phil Johnston (Cedar Rapids) and Jennifer Lee have written the screenplay and Clark Spencer (Bolt, Lilo & Stitch) is producing the project. Jackman has previously scored last year’s Winnie the Pooh feature for Disney, which was also produced by Spencer. It has previously been reported that electronic music artists Skrillex will also be contributing music for the film. Wreck-It-Ralph is set to be released on November 2, 2012 by Walt Disney Pictures. For updates on the film, visit the official movie website.

As previously reported, Jackman also has the action sequel G.I. Joe: Retaliation directed by Jon Cho and starring Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, Byung Hun Lee, Adrienne Palicki, Ray Park, D.J. Cotrona, Jonathan Pryce and Ray Stevenson coming up. The film is scheduled to be released on March 29, 2013.

  1. sean says:

Love Henry Jackman, this is terrific news!!!

  2. Macejko says:

He started prefectly with X-Men, but then it was just downhill. For example “Abraham Lincoln: The Vampire Hunter” was nothing but a re-orchestration of X-Men themes.

    • David says:

Well, Abraham Lincoln wasn’t supposed to have a traditional orchestral score, same with Man On A Ledge. Puss In Boots had great cues, especially with the solos of Rodrigo And Gabriela.

    • Manfred says:

Do you not consider the film maker’s hand in the production of a score? If you think a composer is given carte blanche, you’re fooling yourself.

      • Macejko says:

What do you think was more likely to happen: 1) Bekmambetov said to Jackman: “I want the same score X-Men had.”, or 2) Jackman was simply too lazy (or even untalented, we’ll see in time) to come up with something new.
I don’t want to sound like a hater, frankly I think Jackman’s skills are quite good, but AL:TWH was not a good soundtrack, in my opinion.

  3. I love that song “Bangarang” so I can’t wait to hear what Skrillex has to offer.
