The full details of the soundtrack album for Woody Allen’s romantic comedy Café Society have been revealed. The album features a number of early 20th Century jazz standards newly recorded for the film from Vince Giordano and the Nighthawks including Lady is a Tramp, Jeepers Creepers, Manhattan & more. Also included are classic recordings from Benny Goodman, Count Basie and Ben Selvin. The soundtrack will be released on July 8, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Café Society is written and directed by Allen and stars Jeannie Berlin, Steve Carell, Jesse Eisenberg, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Kristen Stewart, Corey Stoll and Ken Stott. The movie is set in the 1930s and follows a Bronx-born man to Hollywood, where he falls in love, and back to New York, where he is swept up in the vibrant world of high society nightclub life.

Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album for Woody Allen’s comedy drama Irrational Man. Sony Masterworks will be releasing the official soundtrack album for Woody Allen’s new romantic comedy To Rome With Love. The album includes a number of famous arias from such operas as Tosca, Turandot and La Traviata, as well as several classic Italian love songs that are featured in the film. The physical version of the soundtrack will be released on July 10, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check back on this site for audio clips from all tracks on the release. Cannes 2011 Film Music Preview
With the line-up for this year’s Cannes Film Festival announced this past week, we’re going to take a look at a couple of films set to premiere at the festival that haven’t been covered yet on this page. We already reported about three films that are competing at the festival taking place from May 11 to May 22. Terrence Malick’s The Tree of Life with music by Alexandre Desplat already has a soundtrack scheduled to come out next month a couple days before the film’s domestic opening. Also, Pedro Almodovar’s The Skin That I Inhabit (La Piel que habito) features music by Alberto Iglesias and is set for a release this fall by Sony Pictures Classics. And the indie drama We Need to Talk About Kevin starring Tilda Swinton and John C. Reilly and scored by Jonny Greenwood is still awaiting a domestic release date.
