Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for BBC’s Doctor Who spin-off Class. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed and arranged by Blair Mowat (Electric Man, Happy!). The soundtrack will be released digitally and on CD on December 7, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon (digital version) and here (CD version). A limited vinyl version is set to come out in early January. Class is created by Patrick Ness and stars Greg Austin, Fady Elsayed, Sophie Hopkins, Vivian Oparah and Katherine Kelly. The series tells the story of students and staff at Coal Hill Academy, who save London from alien threats.

BBC’s & Netflix’s ‘Watership Down’ to Feature Theme Song by Sam Smith
BBC has announced today that Sam Smith has recorded an original original song for the animated mini-series Watership Down. The track, entitled Fire On Fire, which will serve as the theme for the show, is co-written by Smith & Steve Mac and was recorded with the BBC Concert Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London this past September. The 4-part series is directed by Noam Murro and stars James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Ben Kingsley, John Boyega, Gemma Arterton, Tom Wilkinson, Miles Jupp, Freddie Fox, Olivia Colman, Anne-Marie Duff, Daniel Kaluuya, Rosamund Pike, Peter Capaldi, Taron Egerton, Mackenzie Crook and Gemma Chan.
John Murphy to Score BBC’s ‘Les Miserables’ Mini-Series
John Murphy (28 Days Later…, Sunshine, Snatch, Miami Vice, Kick-Ass) has signed on to score the upcoming BBC/PBS Masterpiece mini-series Les Miserables. The show is developed by Andrew Davies (Bridget Jones’s Diary, House of Cards, War & Peace) based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel and stars Dominic West as Jean Valjean, David Oyelowo as Javert, Lily Collins and Fantine, Adeel Akhtar and Olivia Colman as Monsieur and Madame Thénardier, as well as Ellie Bamber, Josh O’Connor and Erin Kellyman. The 6-part drama delves deep into the layers of Hugo’s story, exploring Valjean and policeman Javert’s cat-and-mouse relationship, against the backdrop of France at a time of civil unrest.
BBC’s & AMC’s ‘The Little Drummer Girl’ to Feature Music by Cho Young Wuk & The Soundtrackings
Cho Young Wuk (aka Yeong-wook Jo) & The Soundtrackings have composed the original music for the new BBC/AMC mini-series The Little Drummer Girl. The show is directed by Chan-woon Park (Stoker) and stars Florence Pugh, Alexander Skarsgård, Michael Shannon, Clare Holman, Kate Sumpter, Charles Dance, Simona Brown and Max Irons. The 6-parter thriller based on John le Carré’s best-selling novel of the same name is set in the late 1970s and follows a fiery actress and idealist whose resolve is tested after she meets a mysterious man while on holiday in Greece.
Soundtrack Album for BBC/Netflix Series ‘Bodyguard’ Released
Dubois Records has released a soundtrack album for the BBC drama Bodyguard. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Ruth Barrett (Victoria, Harry Brown, Collateral, Toast, Hunted) and Ruskin Williamson. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Bodyguard is created by Jed Mercurio and stars Richard Madden, Keeley Hawes, Gina McKee, Sophie Rundle, Vincent Franklin and Rowena King. The drama revolves around a war veteran, who, after helping thwart a terrorist attact, is assigned to protect a politician who was a main proponent of the very conflict he fought in.
David Arnold & Michael Price to Score BBC’s & Netflix’s ‘Dracula’
David Arnold has revealed on Twitter that he is attached to co-score the upcoming BBC and Netflix mini-series Dracula with Michael Price. The show is written and created by Steven Moffat & Mark Gatiss and inspired by Bram Stoker’s classic novel. No casting announcements have been made yet. The 3-parter is set in Transylvania in 1897 and follows the the title character as he is drawing his plans against Victorian London. Moffat (Doctor Who, The Adventures of Tintin) & Gatiss are also executive producing the project with Sue Vertue for Hartswood Films, Ben Irving for BBC and Larry Tanz (Castlevania, Watership Down) for Netflix.

The album features the original music from the 4-parter composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Home, The Lego Batman Movie, The Crown, Genius, Terminator Genisys). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 5 and will be available to download on Amazon. The Cry is written by Jacquelin Perske based on the novel by Helen FitzGeralda and stars Jenna Coleman, Ewen Leslie, Stella Gonet, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Asher Keddie, Alex Dimitriades, Markella Kavenagh and Shareena Clanton. The series directed by Glendyn Ivin and produced by Synchronicity Films revolves around a couple who travel from Scotland to Australia to fight for custody of the husband’s daughter.

The series based on Richard Adams’ classic novel is set in the idyllic rural landscape of southern England and follows a band of rabbits on their flight from the intrusion of man and the certain destruction of their home.
Isobel Waller-Bridge to Score BBC’s ‘The ABC Murders’
Isobel Waller-Bridge has been hired to score the upcoming BBC drama The ABC Murders. The mini-series is based on Agatha Christie’s classic 1936 title and stars John Malkovich as Hercule Poirot, Rupert Grint, Andrew Buchan, Eamon Farren, Tara Fitzgerald, Bronwyn James and Freya Mavor. Sarah Phelps (Ordeal by Innocence, The Crimson Field, And Then There Were None) has adapted Christie’s novel for the small screen. Alex Gabassi (The Frankenstein Chronicles) is directing the 3-parter.
