The show is created and written by Tom Rob Smith (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, Child 44) and stars Richard Gere, Helen McCrory, Billy Howle, Ciarán Hinds and Elena Anaya. The 8-part drama revolves around a charismatic self-made American businessman with media outlets in London and around the world whose self-destructive lifestyle spirals out of control.

‘Zog’ Soundtrack Released
Magic Light Pictures has released a soundtrack album for the BBC animated holiday special Zog. The album features the original music from the short composed by René Aubry (The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child, The Highway Rat, Under the Bombs). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Zoë is directed by Max Lang & Daniel Snaddon and stars Sir Lenny Henry, Hugh Skinner, Tracey Ullman, Patsy Ferran and Kit Harington. The film is based on the book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler and tells the story of a clumsy young dragon who longs to win a gold star at Dragon School.
Soundtrack Album for BBC/Amazon’s ‘Informer’ Announced
Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the British series Informer. The album features the show’s original music written by Ilan Eshkeri (Layer Cake, Stardust, Still Alice, 47 Ronin, The Young Victoria) who composed his score as five stand-alone pieces of music. The score, which features vocals by Daisy Chute, former member of the classical cross over vocal quartet All Angels and is performed by Sinfonia Nord & conducted by Atli Örvarsson, is made up from variations of these pieces of music. The soundtrack, which is presented with each complete piece and its variations, will be released digitally on January 18 and will be available to download here.
Volker Bertelmann (Hauschka) to Score ‘The Name of the Rose’ TV Series and BBC/Starz’s ‘The Dublin Murders’
Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (Lion, Adrift, Patrick Melrose, Gunpowder) has signed on to score the upcoming limited series The Name of the Rose. The 8-parter stars John Turturro, Michael Emerson, Rupert Everett, Damian Hardung, Sebastian Koch, James Cosmo, Richard Sammel, Fabrizio Bentivoglio and Greta Scarano. The drama based on Umberto Eco’s novel (which has previously been adapted into a movie version scored by James Horner) is set in Italy in 1327 and follows a Franciscan monk and his novice as they arrive at a secluded monastery in the Alps, where they become witnesses to a series of mysterious murders.
Sam Smith’s ‘Watership Down’ Theme Song ‘Fire on Fire’ Released
Capitol Records has released the original song Fire on Fire from the BBC/Netflix animated mini-series Watership Down. The track is performed by Sam Smith who also co-wrote the track with Steve Mac. The song is now available to download on Amazon. Also check out the music video (helmed by the show’s director Noam Murro) after the jump. As previously reported, Decca Records is releasing a separate soundtrack album featuring the 4-parter’s score by Federico Jusid today. Watership Down starring James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Ben Kingsley, John Boyega, Gemma Arterton, Tom Wilkinson, Miles Jupp, Freddie Fox, Olivia Colman and Anne-Marie Duff will premiere this Sunday, December 23 in the UK on BBC One and in the U.S. and other markets on Netflix.

Murray Gold Scoring HBO’s & BBC’s ‘Gentleman Jack’
Murray Gold (Doctor Who, Torchwood, Death at a Funeral, A Very English Scandal) is composing the original music for the upcoming HBO and BBC series Gentleman Jack. The drama is created by Sally Wainwright (To Walk Invisible, Happy Valley) and stars Suranne Jones, Sophie Rundle, Gemma Whelan, Timothy West, Jeremy Lister and Gemma Jones. The 8-parter is set in 1832 West Yorkshire, England and centers on landowner and industrialist Anne Lister’s attempt to revitalize her inherited home, Shibdhen Hall.
‘Doctor Who’ Season 11 Soundtrack Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for the new season of BBC’s Doctor Who have been revealed. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s eleventh season composed by Segun Akinola who took over scoring duties on the series this year from Murray Gold who scored the previous seasons. The soundtrack is set to be released digitally on January 11, 2019 by Silva Screen Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A physical release is also in the works. Season 11 of Doctor Who is executive produced by Chris Chibnall, Matt Strevens & Sam Hoyle and stars Jodie Whitaker, Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole and Mandip Gill.
Samuel Sim Scoring BBC’s ‘The Victim’
Composer Samuel Sim is reuniting with writer/producer Rob Williams on the upcoming BBC drama The Victim. The series is written and created by Williams and stars Kelly Macdonald, John Hannah, James Harkness, Jamie Sives, Karla Crome, Ramon Tikaram, Cal MacAninch, Chloe Pirrie and Isis Hainsworth. The legal thriller is set in Scotland and follows a mother whose nine-year old boy was murdered fifteen years ago by a 13 year old and – years later – is accused of revealing his new identity online.
Soundtrack Album for BBC’s ‘Dynasties’ Announced
Silva Screen Records has announced a soundtrack album for the BBC Earth docu-series Dynasties. The album features the show’s original music composed by Benji Merrison and Will Slater (Africa, One Strange Rock, Planet Earth Live) and performed by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
