Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the indie comedy For a Good Time, Call…. The album features the songs from the film by artists including Operator Please, Generationals, Mack Winston & The Reflections, Hanni El Khatib, Mary Wells, Timbre Timbre and The Dig. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 28, 2012 and physically in September. The CD is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are available below. For a Good Time, Call… is directed by Jamie Travis and stars Ari Graynor and Lauren Miller as two women who move in together after a loss of a relationship and a loss of a rent controlled home and start a phone sex line. Justin Long, Mark Webber and James Wolk are co-starring in the comedy, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released on August 31 by Focus Features. ‘The Words’ Soundtrack Announced

Lakeshore Records will be releasing a soundtrack album for the thriller The Words. The album features the film’s original score composed by Marcelo Zarvos (The Good Shepherd, Remember Me). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 4, 2012 and physically on September 18. Audio clips from all tracks on the album can be checked out below. The Words is written and directed by Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal and stars Bradley Cooper, Olivia Wilde, Zoe Saldana, Jeremy Irons, Dennis Quaid, Ben Barnes, John Hannah, J.K. Simmons and Nora Arnezeder. The film premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and has been picked up by CBS Films for domestic distribution. The details of the soundtrack album for John Hillcoat’s gangster movie Lawless have been revealed. The album features selections from the film’s original score composed by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis who formed the band The Bootleggers for the project and are collaborating with such artists as Mark Lenegan, Ralph Stanley and Emmylou Harris. Also featured is a previously unreleased song by Willie Nelson. The soundtrack will be released on August 28, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Reinhold Heil and Johnny Klimek are currently scoring the action monster movie I, Frankenstein. The film is directed by Stuart Beattie and stars Aaron Eckhart as Frankenstein’s monster Adam, who has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation and is being pursued by demons wanting to gain the secret of his reanimated corpse. Yvonne Strahovski, Bill Nighy and Miranda Otto are co-starring in the movie, which is based on the comic by Kevin Grevioux. Tom Rosenberg & Gary Lucchesi (Million Dollar Baby, Underworld), Andrew Mason (Dark City) and Richard Wright (Underworld, The Lincoln Lawyer) are producing the Lakeshore Entertainment and Hopscotch Features production. ‘The Sapphires’ Soundtrack Details

The details of the soundtrack album for the Australian comedy The Sapphires have been revealed. The album features the songs featured in the film including such soul classics as Heard It Through The Grapevine, What A Man and Ill Take You There performed by one of the films stars, Jessica Mauboy. The soundtrack will be released in France and Australia next week by Sony Music and is available as an import on Amazon. No word yet on a domestic release date. Audio clips can be checked out here. The Sapphires is directed by Wayne Blair and stars Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids), Deborah Mailman, Jessica Mauboy, Shari Sebbens and Miranda Tapsell. The movie follows four talented Australian Aboriginal girls from a remote mission as they learn about love, friendship and war when their all girl group The Sapphires entertains the U.S. troops in Vietnam in 1968. Coconut Records will be releasing a soundtrack album for the coming-of-age indie comedy  Goats. The album features the film’s original score composed by Jason Schwartzman and Woody Jackson. The soundtrack will be released on August 7, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips from all tracks on the album can be checked out after the jump. Goats is directed by Christopher Neil and stars David Duchovny, Vera Farmiga, Ty Burrell and Graham Phillips. The film is based on a novel by Mark Jude Poirier about a guy who leaves his unconventional desert home to attend the disciplined and structured Gates Academy. SoundWorks Collection has published a new video profile on the sound and music of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. In the 9-minute video, composer Hans Zimmer and supervising sound editor and sound designer Richard King talk about their work on the final chapter in Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Spinner has published a short video from the recording sessions of a new version of Moby‘s song Extreme Ways for Tony Gilroy’s action thriller The Bourne Legacy. The track was partly recorded with a 110-piece orchestra with the help of composers James Newton Howard (who also composed the film’s score) and Joseph Trapanese (Tron: Uprising). John Swihart to Score NBC’s ‘Go On’

John Swihart has been hired to score the new NBC comedy Go On. The show stars Matthew Perry  as a recent widower and sports talk radio host who is ready to get back to work after the loss of his wife. Laura Benanti, Julie White, Suzy Nakamura, Tyler James Williams, Brett Gelman and John Cho are co-starring. The series is created Scott Silveri who previously worked with Perry on NBC’s Friends. Silveri is also producing the project with Jon Pollack, Todd Holland (Wonderfalls) and Karey Nixon. Holland has also directed the pilot. Go On is set to premiere on September 11, 2012 on will be airing every Tuesday night on NBC. Read the rest of this entry »

Walt Disney Records will be releasing a soundtrack album for the family fantasy drama The Odd Life of Timothy Green. The album features the film’s original score composed by Geoff Zanelli (Disturbia, The Pacific).
