Dubois Records has released a soundtrack album for the BBC series The Mallorca Files. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s first season composed by Charlie Mole (An Ideal Husband, The Importance of Being Earnest, Dorian Gray, Othello, Dad’s Army), including the songs Surrender and Time on Our Side performed by Anna Ross. Teh soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. The Mallorca Files is created by Dan Sefton and stars Elen Rhys, Julian Looman, Maria Fernandez Ache, Tábata Cerezo, Nacho Aldeguer, Carlos Olalla and Tanya Moodie.

Weekly Film Music Roundup (December 7, 2018)
The only nationwide release this weekend is the 25th Anniversary re-release of the drama Schindler’s List directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes. The film’s original music is composed by John Williams (Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial) who earned his fifth Academy Award for his score. La-La Land Records has recently released a new 2-CD limited edition soundtrack to coincide with the movie’s re-release. Check out our previous news article for the full album details.
Opening in limited release is the drama Vox Lux directed by Brady Corbet and starring Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Cassidy, Stacy Martin, Jennifer Ehle, Christopher Abbott and Willem Dafoe. Scott Walker (The Childhood of a Leader, Pola X) has composed the film’s original score and Sia has written original songs for the movie. Charlie Mole to Score Oliver Parker’s ‘Swimming with Men’
Charlie Mole is reuniting with director Oliver Parker on the upcoming British comedy Swimming with Men. The film stars Rob Brydon, Jim Carter, Jane Horrocks, Adeel Akhtar, Daniel Mays, Charlotte Riley, Thomas Turgoose, Rupert Graves and Nathaniel Parker. The movie tells the story of a man suffering a mid-life crisis who finds new meaning to his life as part of an all-male, middle-aged, amateur synchronized swimming team. Aschlin Ditta (Scenes of a Sexual Nature) wrote the screenplay inspired by the 2010 documentary Men Who Swim.
‘Mr. Selfridge’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Sony Classical will release the first soundtrack album for the hit ITV/PBS period drama Mr. Selfridge. The album features selections of the original music from all four seasons of the show composed by Charlie Mole (An Ideal Husband, The Importance of Being Earnest, Dorian Gray, Dad’s Army). The soundtrack will be released on February 26, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Mr. Selfridge is created by Andrew Davies and stars Jeremy Piven, Amanda Abbington, Gregory Fitoussi, Tom Goodman-Hill, Trystan Gravelle, Katherine Kelly, Aisling Loftus, Aidan McArdle and Frances O’Connor. The series is set in the early 1900s and centers on Harry Selfridge who arrives in London intent on building the world’s largest department store in the capital’s Oxford Street.

Also included is Bud Flanagan’s Dad’s Army TV theme Who Do You Think You Are Kidding Mr. Hitler, as well as Glenn Miller’s Moonlight Serenade. The soundtrack will be released on February 5, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The show’s cast includes Hugh Dancy as Will Graham and Mads Mikkelsen as Hannibal Lecter, as well as Laurence Fishburne, Caroline Dhavernas, Eddie Izzard, Gina Torres, Molly Shannon, Gillian Anderson, Ellen Greene and Chelan Simmons. Soundtracks for ‘The Samaritan’, ‘The Moth Diaries’, ‘Dorian Gray’ and ‘7 Days in Havana’ Announced
A number of digital-only soundtrack albums by Metropolis Movie Music that have previously only been released overseas are coming out this week in the US. Among the titles is the soundtrack for the thriller The Samaritan. The album features the film’s score composed by Todor Kobakov. To download the album, visit Amazon and check out audio clips from the album after the jump. The Samaritan is directed by David Weaver and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Luke Kirby, Ruth Nigga and Tom Wilkinson. The film opened in select theaters this past May in the US.
