The only nationwide release this weekend is the 25th Anniversary re-release of the drama Schindler’s List directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Liam Neeson, Ben Kingsley and Ralph Fiennes. The film’s original music is composed by John Williams (Star WarsJurassic ParkJawsRaiders of the Lost ArkE.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial) who earned his fifth Academy Award for his score. Opening in limited release is the drama Vox Lux directed by Brady Corbet and starring Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Cassidy, Stacy Martin, Jennifer Ehle, Christopher Abbott and Willem Dafoe. Scott Walker (The Childhood of a LeaderPola X) has composed the film’s original score and Sia has written original songs for the movie. Also opening in limited release is the period drama Mary Queen of Scots directed by Josie Rourke and starring Saoirse Ronan, Margot Robbie, Jack Lowden, Joe Alwyn, Gemma Chan, Ismael Cordova, Adrian Lester, David Tennant, James McArdle and Guy Pearce. The film’s original music is composed by Max Richter (The LeftoversHostilesWaltz with BashirTabooWhite Boy Rick). Deutsche Grammophon has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening in select theaters is the drama Ben Is Back written and directed by Peter Hedges and starring Julia Roberts, Lucas Hedges, Courtney B. Vance and Kathryn Newton.  Dickon Hinchliffe (Winter’s BoneLeave No TraceLockeOut of the Furnace, Peaky Blinders) has composed the film’s original score. Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music today. Also opening in select U.S. theaters is the British comedy Swimming with Men directed by Oliver Parker and starring Rob Brydon, Rupert Graves, Adeel Akhtar, Jim Carter, Jane Horrocks, Thomas Turgoose, Daniel Mays and Charlotte Riley. The film’s original music is composed by the director’s regular musical collaborator Charlie Mole (An Ideal HusbandThe Importance of Being EarnestDorian Gray) No soundtrack album has been announced. Another limited release this week is the family adventure Bernie the Dolphin directed by Kirk Harris and starring Lola Sultan, Patrick Muldoon, Logan Allen, Stelio Savante, Dahlia Legault, Lily Cardone, Sam Sorbo, Owen Harn, Sean Gloria and Kevin Sorbo. Joshua R. Mosley has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the film’s score, as well as songs by Nicole Michelle, Parker Theory & others. Also opening in select U.S. cities is the Armenian drama Spitak directed by Alexander Kott and starring Aleksandr Kuznetsov, Olivier Pagès and Oleg Vasilkov. The film’s original music is composed by Serj Tankian (1915FuriousIntent to Destroy) who is best known as the lead singer of System of a Down. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score has been released last week. Also opening in limited release is the documentary Divide and Conquer: The Story of Roger Ailes directed by Alexis Bloom about the rise and fall of the late Republican Party booster and controversial Fox News mogul. Will Bates (The PathThe Looming TowerI Origins, The Magicians, Nightflyers) has composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack release. Opening in select theaters while also premiering on Netflix today is the comedy Dumplin’ directed by Anne Fletcher and starring Danielle Macdonald, Jennifer Aniston, Odeya Rush and Dove Cameron. Jake Monaco (Let’s Be Cops, Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, Keeping Up with the Joneses) has composed the film’s original score. Dolly Parton & Linda Perry have composed the film’s original songs and have just earned a Golden Globe nomination for the song Girl in the Movies.
