The full details of the soundtrack album for the crime thriller The Rivals of Amziah King have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Erick Alexander & Jared Bulmer (The Vast of Night) and Ben Hardesty who wrote several original songs. T Bone Burnett, Blake Neely and Michael Alexander serve as the project’s music producers. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 28 by Lakeshore Records and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The label has previously released a first song (Quill) as a digital single earlier this month. A vinyl edition is available to order on Black Bear Pictures’ official website. T Bone Burnett (True Detective, Crazy Heart, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Inside Llewyn Davis, Walk the Line) has been tapped to contribute original songs to the upcoming monster movie Grendel. The film will be directed by Robert D. Krzykowski (The Man Who Killed Hitler and Then the Bigfoot) and is set to Jeff Bridges, Dave Bautista, Bryan Cranston, Thomasin McKenzie and Aidan Turner, as well as Burnett himself as The Shaper. The movie is based on John Gardner’s novel of the same name and tells the tale of the legendary monster at the heart of the Beowulf epic poem who steps forth to tell his side of this story.

T Bone Burnett (True Detective, Crazy Heart, Inside Llewyn Davis, Walk the Line) and Patrick Warren (The Chi, Alice) are scoring the new FX original series The Old Man. The show is developed by Jonathan E. Steinberg (See, Human Target) & Robert Levine (Black Sails) based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Thomas Perry and stars Jeff Bridges, John Lithgow, Amy Brenneman, Alia Shawkat, E.J. Bonilla and Gbenga Akinnagbe. The drama follows the title character who absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid, when an assassin arrives and tries to take him out.
T Bone Burnett to Compose Music for Lily Rabe’s & Hamish Linklater’s ‘Downtown Owl’
Deadline is reporting that T Bone Burnett (Inside Llewyn Davis, Crazy Heart, True Detective, Walk the Line) is attached to compose music for a film adaptation of Chuck Klosterman’s novel Downtown Owl. The film is directed by actors Lily Rabe & Hamish Linklater and stars Rabe herself, Ed Harris Vanessa Hudgens, Finn Wittrock, Jack Dylan Grazer and August Blanco Rosenstein. The drama is set in rural North Dakota in 1983 and revolves around a high school English teacher whose presence upends the lives of locals just in time for a white-out blizzard for the ages.
T Bone Burnett to Compose Music for Doug Liman’s ‘Everest’
T Bone Burnett (Crazy Heart, Inside Llewyn Davis, True Detective, Walk the Line) is set to compose music for the upcoming adventure drama Everest. The film is directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity, Edge of Tomorrow) and will star Ewan McGregor, Mark Strong and Sam Heughan. The movie is inspired by the novel Paths of Glory by Jeffrey Archer and tells the true story of English mountaineer George Mallory who took part in the first three British expeditions to climb Mount Everest. Sheldon Turner (Up in the Air, X-Men: First Class) wrote the screenplay. Liman is also producing the project with Jennifer Klein.
AMC Greenlights Musical Anthology Series ‘American Anthem’
AMC has announced today that it has greenlit the musical anthology series American Anthem. Singer/songwriter and The Hold Steady member Craig Finn will compose the original songs and T Bone Burnett (O Brother, Where Art Thou?, True Detective, Nashville) will serve as the project’s music producer. The show is created by Scott Z. Burns (The Report, Contagion) and executive produced The 8-part musical dramedy tells the story of a middle class midwestern family tumbling down the ladder of American society; periodically bursting into song as they struggle to catch themselves. Mark Johnson (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Chronicles of Narnia) will be executive producing the AMC Studios production.
T Bone Burnett to Produce ‘The Peanut Butter Falcon’ Soundtrack
Armory Films announced today that T Bone Burnett will be producing the soundtrack for the upcoming drama The Peanut Butter Falcon. The film is written and directed by Tyler Nilson & Michael Schwartz (The Moped Diaries) and stars Shia LaBeouf, Dakota Johnson, Zachary Gottsagen and Bruce Dern. The movie follows a down on his luck crab fisherman as he embarks on a journey to get a young man with Down syndrome to a professional wresting school in rural North Carolina and away from the retirement home where he’s lived most of his life. Burnett is also producing the movie with Tim Zajaros & Christopher Lemole, Albert Berger & Ron Yerxa (Little Miss Sunshine, Nebraska), Lije Sarki and David Thies.

T Bone Burnett is set to produce the soundtrack for the upcoming holiday comedy Let It Snow. He will also be serving as the music executive producer of the film, which is directed by Jessie Nelson (I Am Sam, Corrina, Corrina) and stars Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Ed Helms, Diane Keaton, Anthony Mackie, Amanda Seyfried, June Squibb, Marisa Tomei, Olivia Wilde, Jake Lacy, Alex Borstein and Jon Tenney. The movie follows the exasperated members of an extended family as they attempt to gather for their annual holiday celebration. Steven Rogers (P.S. I Love You) has written the screenplay.
