Deadline is reporting that T Bone Burnett (Inside Llewyn DavisCrazy HeartTrue DetectiveWalk the Line) is attached to compose music for a film adaptation of Chuck Klosterman’s novel Downtown Owl. The film is directed by actors Lily Rabe & Hamish Linklater and stars Rabe herself, Ed Harris  Vanessa Hudgens, Finn Wittrock, Jack Dylan Grazer and August Blanco Rosenstein. The drama is set in rural North Dakota in 1983 and revolves around a high school English teacher whose presence upends the lives of locals just in time for a white-out blizzard for the ages. Linklater also wrote the screenplay and is producing the project with Bettina Barrow (Sister Aimee) and Rabe of Kill Claudio Productions, as well as Rebecca Green (It Follows, I’ll See You in My Dreams). Downtown Owl is currently shooting in Minnesota and will be released by Stage 6 Films/Sony Pictures.

As previously reported, Burnett is also involved in Doug Liman’s Everest, which is currently awaiting a production start date following several delays.
