A behind-the-scenes look at the music for NBC’s sci-fi drama Revolution has been published today. The video features an interview with the show’s composer Christopher Lennertz (Horrible Bosses, Hop, Supernatural), as well footage from the recording sessions of the score. The music is recorded weekly with a full orchestra at the Warner Bros. Eastwood Scoring Stage in Burbank. Revolution created by created by Eric Kripke, produced by J.J. Abrams and starring Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridako, Anna Lise Phillips, Elizabeth Mitchell, Zak Orth and Giancarlo Esposito recently premiered on NBC and was the network’s top-rated drama debut in several years, as well as this season’s highest rated new series. The cover art for the soundtrack album for the latest James Bond installment Skyfall has been published. The album featuring the film’s original music composed by Thomas Newman will be released overseas on October 29, 2012 and in the US on November 6 by Sony Classical. To pre-order the CD, visit Amazon. The full track list is expected to be published in the next couple of days. In related news, Yahoo! Movies has posted the first clip from the movie, which appears to feature some of Newman’s score. Composer Panels at New York Comic Con 2012

Two composer panels have been announced for next week’s New York Comic Con. During the Setting the Score: Composing for Film & TV panel, science fiction, fantasy and horror composers will discuss the behind the scenes work in scoring for film and television. Panelists include Kevin Manthei  (Invader Zim, Justice League: New Frontier), Dino Meneghin (MTV’s Teen Wolf), Frederik Wiedmann (Green Lantern: The Animated Series), Fall On Your Sword (Another Earth, Nobody Walks) and Jay Vincent (Ninjago). The panel will be moderated by Matthew Patches (Editor, Hollywood.com) and will take place on Friday, October 12 at the Javits Center in Room 1A01 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Summit Entertainment, Chop Shop Records and Atlantic Records have announced the track list of the soundtrack album for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2. The album features the songs from and inspired by the film by artists including Passion Pit, Ellie Goulding, Green Day, Feist, The Boom Circuits, St. Vincent, Iko, A Boy and His Kite and Christina Perri. Also included is one track from the film’s original score by Carter Burwell. The soundtrack will be released on November 13, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Deadline is reporting that multiple Academy Award-nominated songwriter Diane Warren is teaming up with executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (SmashHairspray, The Bucket List) to develop an hour-long musical dramedy show for NBC. Krista Vernoff (Grey’s Anatomy) is writing and producing the project. The series will feature the music catalog of Warren, who serves as a consulting producer. The dramedy centers on a 30-something songwriter who has written the most epic love songs of our time, despite, or perhaps due to the fact that she is painfully unlucky in love. Zadan and Meron have been friends with Warren for over a decade and previously worked together with her on the 1999 ABC musical Double Platinum, for which the songwriter composed an original song. Terence Blanchard has composed the score for the Lifetime original movie Abducted: The Carlina White Story. The film directed by Vondie Curtis-Hall is based on the true story of the kidnapping of Carlina White, who was abducted as an infant by Ann Pettway from a New York hospital and solved her own kidnapping and reunited with her biological parents 23 years later. The movie’s cast includes Aunjanue Ellis (The Help), Keke Palmer, Sherri Shepherd and Roger Cross. Craig Piligian, Mary Martin and Alan Gasmer are executive producing the Pilgrim Studios production. Void Recordings will release a soundtrack album for the horror thriller 11-11-11. The album features the film’s original score composed by Joseph Bishara (Insidious, Repo: The Genetic Opera). ‘Liberal Arts’ Soundtrack Released

Artists’ Addictions Records has released a soundtrack album for the indie comedy drama Liberal Arts. The album features three tracks from the film’s score composed by Ben Toth, as well as Moby’s The Poison Tree, Kaiser Cartel’s Favorite Song and the classical pieces used in the film by composers including Beethoven, Wagner and Vivaldi. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. Liberal Arts is written and directed by Josh Radnor who also stars in the film alongside Elizabeth Olsen, Richard Jenkins, Allison Janney and Elizabeth Reaser. Composer Johan Söderqvist is reuniting with director Susanne Bier on the upcoming drama Serena. The film is set in 1920s North Carolina and stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper as two newlyweds who battle the state government to stop it requisitioning their land as part of a national park. Toby Jones, Rhys Ifans and Sean Harris are co-starring. Christopher Kyle (K-19: The Widowmaker, Alexander) has written the screenplay based on a novel by Ron Rash. Nick Wechsler (Magic Mike, The Road), Todd Wagner & Mark Cuban (Deadfall), Ben Cosgrove (The Good German), Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz (Killing Them Softly, The Road) are producing the 2929 Entertainment production. MovieScore Media has released two new soundtrack albums for the BBC series Merlin. The albums include music from the third and fourth season of the hit show composed by Rob Lane (The Damned United), Rohan Stevenson, James Gosling and Michael Pawlicek. The soundtrack albums have been released digitally on October 2. Visit iTunes to download both albums for season 3 and season 4. A physical release for both albums is scheduled to come out on October 16. Merlin created by Julian Jones, Jake Michie, Julian Murphy and Johnny Capps is an update of the story of the infamous sorcerer of Arthurian legend.
