The details of the soundtrack album for Rob Zombie’s horror film The Lords of Salem have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by John 5 & Griffin Boyce, as well as the songs from the film by artists including Manfred Mann, Leviathan The Fleeing Serpent, Rick James, Rush and The Velvet Underground. The soundtrack will be released on April 16, 2013 by Universal Music Group and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Lords of Salem is written and directed by Zombie and stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Bruce Davidson, Jeffrey Daniel Phillips, Ken Foree, Patricia Quinn, Dee Wallace, Maria Conchita Alonso, Judy Geeson, Meg Foster and Griffin Boice. The movie follows a radio station DJ living in Salem, Massachusetts, who receives a strange wooden box containing a record, which triggers flashbacks of the town’s violent past. Matthew Margeson Scoring ‘Kick-Ass 2’

According to the film’s new trailer, Matthew Margeson is scoring the upcoming superhero action comedy sequel Kick-Ass 2. The film is directed by Jeff Wadlow (Never Back Down, Cry Wolf) and stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse who all return from the 2010 original film and are joined by Jim Carrey who portays Sal Bertolinni aka Colonel Stars and Stripes. Donald Faison, Clark Duke, John Leguizamo and Morris Chestnut are co-starring. Wadlow has also written the screenplay based on the characters from the comic book Hit-Girl by Mark Millar and John Romita, Jr. Matthew Vaughn who directed the first part is producing the Marv Films and Plan B production with Brad Pitt, Adam Bohling (Layer Cake), Targquin Pack and David Reid. The project will marks Margeson’s second major studio release following 2010’s Skyline. He previously served as an additional music arranger on the first Kick-Ass installment (which featured music by Henry Jackman, John Murphy, Ilan Eshkeri and Marius De Vries) and has written additional music for numerous films scored by Jackman. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Price (Sherlock, Horrid Henry: The Movie). Evgueni and Sacha Galperine are the composers of the upcoming crime comedy Malavita. The film is directed by Luc Besson and stars Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer, Tommy Lee Jones, Dianna Agron and John D’Leo. The movie follows a retired mafia boss who moves to a small town in France’s Normandy with his wife and daughter as part of the witness protection program. Film Score Monthly has announced new soundtrack deluxe edition for the 1969 western The Wild Bunch directed by Sam Peckinpah and starring William Holden, Ernest Borgnine, Robert Ryan, Edmond O’Brien and Warren Oates. The film’s music is composed by Jerry Fielding who received an Academy Award nomination for his work on the picture. The soundtrack features the complete score, a re-mastering of the 1969 soundtrack album; plus extensive alternates, as well as demo recordings and additional music. David Sardy to Score David Ayer’s ‘Ten’

David Sardy has signed on to score the upcoming action thriller Ten. The film is directed by David Ayer (Street Kings, screenwriter of Training Day) and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of an elite DEA task force that takes on the world’s deadliest drug cartels. Sam Worthington, Joe Manganiello, Harold Perrineau, Terrence Howard, Max Martini, Josh Holloway, Olivia Williams and Mireille Enos are co-starring. Skip Woods (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, A Good Day to Die Hard, Swordfish) has written the screenplay and Joe Roth (Oz the Great and Powerful, Alice in Wonderland), Bill Block & Paul Hanson (W., Alex Cross), Palak Patel (Snow White and the Huntsman) and Al Ruddy (Million Dollar Baby) are producing the project.
