Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1991 psychological thriller Cape Fear directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert De Niro, Nick Nolte, Jessica Lange, Joe Don Baker, Juliette Lewis, Robert Mitchum and Gregory Peack. The album features the film’s newly remastered and expanded original score composed by Bernard Herrmann (originally written for the 1962 feature of the same title) adapted, arranged and conducted by Elmer Bernstein (The Magnificent Seven, To Kill a Mockingbird, Ghostbusters, The Age of Innocence, Airplane, Far from Heaven), including around 15 minutes of previously unreleased music, as well as alternate cues. The 2-CD set is now available to order on Amazon and the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and find out more about the release.

‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ Soundtrack Album Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for Martin Scorsese’s epic western crime saga Killers of the Flower Moon have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Robbie Robertson (The Color of Money, The Irishman, Jimmy Hollywood). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 20 by Sony Masterworks and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. A CD version is set to come out on December 8 (click here to order) and a vinyl edition the following week, December 15 (click here to pre-order) . Killers of the Flower Moon is co-written and directed by Scorsese and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, John Lithgow, Tantoo Cardinal, Brendan Fraser, JaNae Collins, Cara Jade Myers, Jillian Dion, Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson. The movie based on David Grann’s best-selling book of the same name is set in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the serial murder of members of the Osage Nation, a string of crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror.

Sony Masterworks will release the official soundtrack album for Martin Scorsese’s crime drama The Irishman. The album features a selection of songs from the movie by artists including The Five Satins, Fats Domino, Smiley Lewis, Donnie Elbert, Bill Doggett & others. Paramount Pictures has revealed the music credits for Martin Scorsese’s historical drama Silence today. Kim Allen Kluge and Kathryne Kluge have composed the film’s original score. Robbie Robertson serves as the movie’s executive music producer. He previously had the same role on several of the director’s features, including The Wolf of Wall Street, Gangs of New York and King of Comedy. Music supervisors are Randall Poster (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Hangover) who previously worked on Scorsese’s The Aviator, Hugo, The Wolf of Wall Street and Boardwalk Empire and John Schaefer. Nathan Larson to Score HBO’s ‘Vinyl’
Nathan Larson is set to compose the score for the upcoming HBO series Vinyl. The show is created by Terence Winter (Boardwalk Empire, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Sopranos) and stars Bobby Cannavale, Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Juno Temple, Ato Essandoh, P. J. Byrne, J. C. MacKenzie, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen and Paul Ben-Victor. The drama is set in 1970s New York and tells the story of Richie Finestra, a record executive trying to resurrect his label and find the next new sound. Martin Scorsese (Good Fellas, Taxi Driver, The Departed) has directed the pilot episode and is also executive producing the project with Winter, Mick Jagger, George Mastras (Breaking Bad), Rick Yorn (We Bought a Zoo), Victoria Pearman (Get on Up) and Emma Tillinger Koskoff (The Wolf of Wall Street).
Howard Shore to Score Martin Scorsese’s ‘Silence’
Howard Shore confirmed in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter that he will be reuniting with director Martin Scorsese on the upcoming historical drama Silence. The film stars Andrew Garfield as a 17th-century Portuguese Jesuit who travels to Japan with a fellow priest, played by Liam Neeson, amid rumors that his mentor has abandoned the Church, to find out that the local Christian population has been driven underground by religious persecution. Ken Watanabe and Adam Driver are co-starring. Jay Cooks (Gangs of New York, Age of Innocence) has written the screenplay based on the novel by Shûsaku Endô. Irwin Winkler (Goodfellas, Rocky, Raging Bull) is producing the project with Randall Emmett & George Furla (End of Watch, Lone Survivor, 2 Guns) and Emma Tillinger Koskoff (The Wolf of Wall Street).

The credits on the official movie website of Martin Scorsese’s upcoming drama Hugo reveal that a soundtrack album for the movie will be released on Howard Shore‘s own label Howe Records. According to The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films, Shore’s music will be recorded later this year. Scorsese has previously worked with the composer on a number of films including The Aviator, The Departed, The Gangs of New York and After Hours. More details on the soundtrack album are expected to be announced within the next few months.
