The full details of the first soundtrack album for the Amazon original series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power have been revealed. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s first season composed by Emmy Award winner Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Outlander, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead, Happy Death Day). Also included is the main title theme by Academy Award winner Howard Shore who previously scored the The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 19 and will be available to stream on Amazon (featuring two Amazon Music exclusive tracks, Find the Light and The Promised King) and any other major digital music services. ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’ Teaser Trailer
The teaser trailer for Peter Jackson’s upcoming fantasy film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey premiered last night and features new original music composed Howard Shore, including what appears to be a new theme. Check out the trailer after the jump. The first prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Graham McTavish, Andy Serkis, Christopher Lee, Benedict Cumberbatch, Hugo Weaving, James Nesbitt, Orlando Bloom, Ian Holm and Elijah Wood will be released on December 14, 2012.
Howe Records to Release Howard Shore’s ‘Hugo’ Soundtrack

The credits on the official movie website of Martin Scorsese’s upcoming drama Hugo reveal that a soundtrack album for the movie will be released on Howard Shore‘s own label Howe Records. According to The Music of the Lord of the Rings Films, Shore’s music will be recorded later this year. Scorsese has previously worked with the composer on a number of films including The Aviator, The Departed, The Gangs of New York and After Hours. More details on the soundtrack album are expected to be announced within the next few months. Hugo is set in 1930s Paris and centers on a 12-year-old orphan who lives in a train station and must finish what his late father started by solving the mystery of a broken robotstars .
