Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1962 drama Requiem for a Heavyweight directed by Ralph Nelson and starring Anthony Quinn, Jackie Gleason, Julie Harris and Mickey Rooney. The album features the the expanded and remastered original score from the film composed by Laurence Rosenthal (Clash of the Titans, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Becket, Rooster Cogburn, Meteor), including previously unreleased music. The CD also includes a remastered version of the composer’s music from the 1961 drama A Raisin in the Sun directed by Daniel Petrie and starring Sidney Poitier, Ruby Dee, Claudia McNeil, Roy Glenn, Diana Sands and Louis Gossett Jr. Visit Intrada’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the release.

‘Laurence Rosenthal – Music for Film and Television’ Album Announced
Film Fest Gent has announced the new album Laurence Rosenthal – Music for Film and Television featuring music by recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year’s World Soundtrack Awards, including all-new studio recordings of selected scores by the composer performed by the Brussels Philharmonic and conducted by the festival’s music director Dirk Brossé. Titles featured on the album include Becket (for which he received an Academy Award nomination), The Miracle Worker, The Return of a Man Called Horse, Clash of the Titans and the miniseries Mussolini: The Untold Story.
‘Air Force One’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack Album Announced
Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in its CD Club series, including a deluxe edition soundtrack for the 1997 action thriller Air Force One directed by Wolfgang Petersen and starring Harrison Ford, Gary Oldman, Glenn Close, Xander Berkeley, William H. Macy and Dean Stockwell. The album features the expanded original score from the movie composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Planet of the Apes, Chinatown, Patton). Joel McNeely (A Million Ways to Die in the West, The Orville) has composed additional music.
John Barry’s ‘The Dove’ Score Released
Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack CD release for the 1974 drama The Dove directed by Charles Jarrott and starring Joseph Bottoms, Deborah Raffin and Gregory Peck . The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner John Barry (Dance With Wolves, Out of Africa, Goldfinger) who previously scored Jarrott’s Mary, Queen Of Scots. Included is the content of the original 1974 soundtrack LP, including the original song written by the composer, performed by Lyn Paul and with lyrics by Don Black, as well as several previously unreleased tracks. Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1991 sports comedy Necessary Roughness directed by Stan Dragoti and starring Scott Bakula, Robert Loggia, Sinbad and Hector Elizondo. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Bill Conti (Rocky, The Thomas Crown Affair, The Right Stuff). The soundtrack features the composer’s complete score from the Paramount Pictures production, as well as couple of alternate cues. Among the titles is a deluxe edition for Star Trek: Nemesis, the tenth feature in the series and the final movie with the Next Generation crew, directed by Stuart Baird and starring Jonathan Frakes, Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Tom Hardy and Marina Sirtis. The album includes the world premiere release of the complete score composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Planet of the Apes, Patton) who previously scored Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Final Frontier, First Contact and Insurrection. Nemesis marked his final score for the franchise. The soundtrack also features source music and alternate cues.
