A&E Television Networks will release two soundtrack albums for the History Channel original documentary series Kennedy. The albums feature the show’s original music composed by Ashton Gleckman (who also directed, edited and produced the 8-parter), Michael Frankenberger, and Cameron Moody. The first volume featuring the composers’ score from the first four episodes will be coming out tomorrow, November 18 and the second volume is expected to be released in the following days. ‘Vikings’ Season 2 Soundtrack Details
Sony Classical will release a new soundtrack album for the History original series Vikings. The album features selections from the original music of the second season of the show composed by Trevor Morris (The Tudors, The Borgias, Immortals). The soundtrack will be released on June 17, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon . Vikings is created by Michael Hirst and stars Travis Fimmel, Jessalyn Gilsig, Gustaf Skarsgard, Clive Standen, Katheryn Winnick, Alexander Ludwig, George Blagde and Alyssa Sutherland. The historical drama tells the story of viking Ragnar Lothbrok, one of the best-known mythological Norse heroes who rises to fame by successful raids into England with the support of his family and fellow warriors. The second season of Vikings premiered this spring on History and the show has already been renewed for a third season to air in 2015.
John Debney to Score History’s ‘Houdini’
John Debney has signed on to score the upcoming mini-series Houdini. The two-parter stars Adrian Brody as Harry Houdini and Kristen Connolly as his wife Bess. The four-hour series follows the magician as be finds fame, engages in espionage, battles spiritualists and encounters several U.S. presidents, as well as such personalities as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Grigori Rasputin. Uli Edel (The Baader Meinhof Complex) is directing the A + E Studios and Lionsgate Television production and Gerald W. Abrams (Nuremberg) and Andras Hamori (eXistenZ, Cheri) are executive producing the project. Nicolas Meyer (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Sommersby, Volunteers) has written the script. Debney has previously scored the mini-series Hatfields & McCoys and last year’s Bonnie & Clyde for A+E/History.

The album features the original score from the mini-series composed by Academy Award nominee John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2). The soundtrack will be released on December 10, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Bonnie & Clyde is directed by Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy) and stars Emile Hirsch and Holliday Grainger in the title roles of Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker, the 1930s couple whose crime spree enraptured the American public. Holly Hunter, William Hurt, Sarah Hyland, Elizabeth Reaser, Lane Garrison, Austin Hebert and Dale Dickey are also starring in the four hour mini-series, which will premiere over two nights on December 8 & 9 on the History, Lifetime and A&E networks.

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Steel Magnolias, The Bucket List, Chicago) are producing the Sony Pictures Television production. John Rice and Joe Batteer (Windtalkers, Blown Away) have written the script. Debney has previously co-scored the History Channel’s Golden Globe- and Emmy-winning mini-series Hatfields & McCoys for Sony Pictures Television.

Trevor Morris Scoring the History Channel’s ‘Vikings’
Trevor Morris is the composer of the History Channel’s upcoming drama Vikings. The show is created by Michael Hirst (Elizabeth) and stars Gabriel Byrne, George Blagde, Travis Fimmel, Jessalyn Gilsig, Gustaf Skarsgard, Clive Standen and Katheryn Winnick. The series centers on Ragnar Lothbrok, a historical figure, and the greatest hero of his age – and the sagas of Ragnar’s. Johan Renck (Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead), Ciaran Donnelly (Titanic: Blood and Steel) and Ken Girotti (Rescue Me) have directed the nine episodes of the first season. Hirst is also executive producing the World 2000 and Take 5 production with Morgan O’Sullivan of World 2000 (The Count of Monte Cristo), John Weber, Sherry Marsh, Alan Gasmer, James Flynn and Sheila Hockin.

Mercer Street Records will release the official soundtrack album for the History Channel’s mini-series The Bible. The album features the series’ original score composed by Hans Zimmer & Lorne Balfe and featuring vocals by Lisa Gerrard. The soundtrack will be released on March 5, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips from the score below. The Bible created and executive produced by Mark Burnett & Roma Downey will cover the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, including stories from Noah’s Ark and the Exodus to Daniel in the Lion’s Den to the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Downey is starring in the mini-series alongside Diogo Morgado, Sean Teale, David Rintoul, Amber Rose Revah, Peter Guinness, Greg Hicks and Simon Kunz. Keith David is narrating the 10-hour/five-part docudrama, which is set to premiere on March 3.
