Opening exclusively in theaters nationwide today is the film adaptation of Patrick Ness’ Chaos Walking directed by Doug Liman and starring Daisy Ridley, Tom Holland, Mads Mikkelsen, Cynthia Erivo, Nick Jonas, Demián Bichir, Kurt Sutter and David Oyelowo. The film’s original music is composed by Marco Beltrami (Logan, 3:10 to Yuma, Scream, Ford v. Ferrari, A Quiet Place, World War Z) & Brandon Roberts (The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death, Underwater). Milan Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score next month. Also opening wide and also premiering on Disney+ as a Premium Access title is the animated feature Raya and the Last Drago directed by Don Hall & Carlos López Estrada and featuring the voices of Kelly Marie Tran, Awkwafina, Daniel Dae Kim, Gemma Chan, Sandra Oh, Benedict Wong, Thalia Tran, Alan Tudyk, Izaac Wang and Ross Butler. James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, The Sixth Sense, King Kong, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Maleficent) has composed the film’s original score. Martin Léon is reuniting with director Philippe Falardeau on the upcoming indie drama The Good Lie. The movie marks the filmmaker’s first English language project and stars Reese Witherspoon, Corey Stoll, Sarah Baker and Brit Arnold Oceng. The film follows a young refugee of the Sudanese Civil War who wins a lottery for relocation to the United States with three other lost boys and develops an unlikely friendship with a brash American woman assigned to help them. Margaret Nagle (Warm Springs, Boardwalk Empire) has written the screenplay. Molly Smith (Beautiful Creatures, P.S. I Love You), Trent Luckinbill and Thad Luckinbill are producing the project for Black Label Media, alongside Brian Grazer & Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, 24) and Karen Kehela Sherwood (Blue Crush) for Imagine Entertainment.
