Ludwig Göransson to Score ‘Rocky’ Spinoff ‘Creed’

Ludwig Göransson has been tapped to score the upcoming boxing drama Creed. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler and stars Sylvester Stallone, Michael B. Jordan, Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad and Anthony Bellew. Stallone stars in his iconic role as Rocky Balboa who acts a trainer for the grandson of Apollo Creed, portrayed by Carl Weathers in 1976’s original Rocky film. Coogler has also co-written the screenplay with Aaron Covington. Robert Chartoff (Rocky series, Ender’s Game, The Gambler) is producing the project with Irwin Winkler (Goodfellas, The Right Stuff, Life as a House), Charles and David Winkler & William Chartoff (The Mechanic), Stallone and Kevin King Templeton (The Expendables, Rambo). GSPO to Perform ‘A Spoonful of Sherman: A Symphonic Concert’

On Sunday, March 15, the Golden State Pops Orchestra (GSPO) will perform A Spoonful of Sherman: A Symphonic Concert at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center. The event will feature performances of the songs by the sibling songwriting team of Richard and Robert Sherman who penned some of the most memorable melodies in the Walt Disney songbook, including It’s A Small World and music for Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Winnie the Pooh and The Jungle Book. A quintet of dynamic vocalists and a children’s chorus will be joining the GSPO and Richard Sherman himself will make a special appearance. Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for Michael Winterbottom’s The Face of an Angel. The album features the film’s original music composed by Harry Escott (Shame, Hard Candy, A Might Heart, Welcome to the Punch). Also included is Mi Fido Di Te performed by Lorenzo “Jovanotti” Cherubini. The soundtrack will be released overseas on March 30, 2015 and is now available as an import on Amazon. No word yet on a domestic release date. The Face of an Angel stars Daniel Brühl, Kate Beckinsale, Valerio Mastandrea and Cara Delevingne.
