ice-age-5John Debney has been hired to score the upcoming animated feature Ice Age: Collision Course. The film is directed by Mike Thurmeier (Ice Age: Continental Drift) and features the voices of Ray Romano, Denis Leary, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Seann William Scott, Josh Peck, Simon Pegg, Keke Palmer, Wanda Sykes, Jennifer Lopez, Stephanie Beatriz, Adam DeVine, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Max Greenfield, Jessie J, Nick Offerman, Melissa Rauch, Michael Strahan and Neil deGrasse Tyson. In the fifth part of the series, Scrat sparks a new series of cosmic events that threaten the Ice Age world with a potentially apocalyptic meteor shower. Lori Forte (Epic) who worked on the previous four Ice Age movies returns as the producer of the Blue Sky Studios production. John Powell has scored the last three parts for the franchise, while David Newman composed the music for the 2002 original film. Ice Age: Collision Course will be released nationwide on July 22, 2016 by 20th Century Fox. Debney’s other upcoming feature projects also include Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book and Mel Gibson’s Hacksaw Ridge. The composer has also scord the upcoming romantic comedy Mother’s Day. The film is directed by Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman) and stars Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson, Julia Roberts and Jason Sudeikis. The composer has previously scored Marshall’s Princes Diaries films, Valentine’s DayNew Year’s EveRaising Helen and Georgia RuleMother’s Day will be released nationwide on April 29, 2016 by Open Road Films.
