Danny Elfman has recently composed the music for the upcoming thriller The Circle. The film is directed by James Ponsoldt (The Spectacular Now, Smashed) and stars Emma Watson, Tom Hanks, John Boyega, Patton Oswalt, Karen Gillian, Bill Paxton and Ellar Coltrane. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Dave Eggers (Where the Wild Things Are, Away We Go) and follows a young woman who joins a social-media company, where she steps in front of the camera and finds her identity threatened by her brush with the spotlight. The album features the film’s original music composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (The Gift, Enemy, Martha Marcy May Marlene, The One I Love). The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on May 13, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The show is created by novelist Daisy Goodwin and stars Jenna Coleman, Rufus Sewell, Alex Jennings, Paul Rhys, Tom Hughes and Peter Firth. The 8-part series follows the early life of Queen Victoria, from her accession to the throne at the age of 18 through to her courtship and marriage to Prince Albert. ‘Hush’ Soundtrack Released

Algorithm has released a soundtrack album for Mike Flanagan’s horror thriller Hush. The album features the film’s original music composed by The Newton Brothers (Oculus, Ouija 2, Life of Crime, Detachment, The Runner). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Hush is co-written and directed by Flanagan and stars John Gallagher Jr., Michael Trucco, Kate Siegel (who also co-wrote the screenplay) and Samantha Sloyan. The movie produced by Jason Blum follows a deaf writer who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life and must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears in her window. Premiering on Tuesday, April 19, is the mini-series The Night Manager directed by Susanne Bier and starring Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, Elizabeth Debicki, David Harewood, Neil Morrissey, Katherine Kelly and Tobias Menzies. The 6-parter’s original music is composed by Victor Reyes (Buried, Grand Piano, Red Lights). Silva Screen Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music from the show. Writer/producer Cheo Hodari Coker revealed in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly that Adrian Younge & Ali Shaheed Muhammad are scoring the upcoming Netflix original series Luke Cage. The show is based on the Marvel Comics character and stars Mike Colter in the title role, alongside Mahershala Ali, Alfre Woodard, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Frank Whaley and Sônia Braga. The drama follows Cage as he becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City after a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin. Gaumont will release a soundtrack album for the French romantic comedy Up for Love (Un homme à la hauteur). The album features the songs from the film by artists including Emilie Gassin, Donna Summer, Antony and the Johnsons, George Fitzgerald, Shake Shake Go and Rebecca Ferguson. Also included are two tracks from the movie’s original score composed by Eric Neveux (Intimacy, The Attack, Hideaways, Nicholas on Holiday). Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is Disney’s new film adaptation of The Jungle Book directed by Jon Favreau and starring Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyongo’o, Scarlett Johansson, Giancarlo Esposito, Neel Sethi and Christopher Walken. The film’s original music is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie. Click here for the full album details. Harry Gregson-Williams is set to compose the music for the upcoming drama The Zookeeper’s Wife. The film is directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider, North Country, McFarland, USA) and stars Jessica Chastain, Daniel Bruhl, Johan Heldenbergh, Michael McElhatton and Anna Rust. The movie is based on Diane Ackerman’s novel of the same title and tells the true story of Antonina Żabińska and her husband Dr. Jan Zabinski, the director of the Warsaw Zoo, who together used the zoo to help about 300 Jewish people escape from the Warsaw Ghetto after the Germans invaded Poland in September 1939. Angela Workman (Snow Flower and the Secret Fan) has written the screenplay. Jeff Abberley, Jamie Patricof (The Place Beyond the Pines, Blue Valentine) and Kim Zubick are producing the project.
