Christopher Gordon is composing the music for the upcoming Australian supernatural thriller Out of the Shadows. The film is directed by Dee McLachlan (The Jammed) and stars Blake Northfield, Kendal Rae, Jim Robison, Jake Ryan, Goran D. Kleut and Helmut Bakaitis. The movie revolves around a newly-wed detective who moves into his dream home unaware of the building’s dark history and seeks help from a renegade demonologist when his pregnant wife claims she is being tormented by a supernatural force. Dubois Records has released the original score of the Black Mirror episode Hated in the Nation. The music is written by Emmy Award nominee Martin Phipps (Woman in Gold, War & Peace, The Honorable Woman, Brighton Rock, Harry Brown) and marks the composer’s second score for the show following the 2011 episode The National Anthem. Also included is the song Fall Into Me by Alev Lenz. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon and iTunes, where you can also listen to audio samples. The Hated in the Nation episode is directed by James Hawes and stars Kelly Macdonald, Faye Marsay and Benedict Wong. The episode is written by series creator Charlie Brooker and follows a London police detective and his tech-savvy sidekick as they investigate a string of mysterious deaths with a sinister link to social media. Iggy Pop has recorded an original song for Stephen Gaghan’s drama Gold. The track, entitled Gold, is co-written by the singer/songwriter, the film’s composer Daniel Pemberton (who also uses elements from the song in his score), Gaghan and Brian Burton (aka Danger Mouse). The track plays over the movie’s end credits. Gold starring Matthew McConaughey, Bryce Dallas Howard, Edgar Ramirez, Corey Stoll, Toby Kebbell, Bruce Greenwood and Stacy Keach follows a modern-day prospector desperate for a lucky break who teams up with a similarly eager geologist and sets off to find gold in the uncharted jungle of Indonesia. Jeff Toyne has recently composed the music for the upcoming drama Nine Eleven. The film is directed by Martin Guigui (Beneath the Darkness, Cattle Call) and stars Charlie Sheen, Whoopi Goldberg, Luis Guzman, Wood Harris, Olga Fonda, Jacqueline Bisset and Gina Gershon. The movie follows a group of 5 people who find themselves trapped in an elevator in the World Trade Center’s North Tower on 9/11. Guigui has also co-written the screenplay with Steven Golebiowski. The show’s original music is composed by Brian H. Kim (Hello, My Name is Doris, Significant Mother, G.B.F.). The comedy follows four self-absorbed twenty-somethings who become entangled in an ominous mystery when a former college acquaintance suddenly disappears.
