The only new movie opening nationwide this weekend is the slasher thriller Halloween co-written and directed by David Gordon Green and starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Virginia Gardner and Nick Castle. The film’s original music is composed by John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies. Sacred Bones Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score. Opening in limited release is the coming-of-age comedy drama Mid90s written and directed by Jonah Hill and starring Sunny Suljic, Lucas Hedges, Na-kel Smith, Gio Galicia, Ryder McLaughlin, Alexa Demie, Katherine Waterston and Olan Prenatt. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Patriots Day) have composed the film’s original score.
