The only new movie opening nationwide this weekend is the slasher thriller Halloween co-written and directed by David Gordon Green and starring Jamie Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Andi Matichak, Will Patton, Virginia Gardner and Nick Castle. The film’s original music is composed by John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies. Sacred Bones Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score. Opening in limited release is the coming-of-age comedy drama Mid90s written and directed by Jonah Hill and starring Sunny Suljic, Lucas Hedges, Na-kel Smith, Gio Galicia, Ryder McLaughlin, Alexa Demie, Katherine Waterston and Olan Prenatt. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Patriots Day) have composed the film’s original score. The full details of the soundtrack album for the period drama Mary Queen of Scots have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Max Richter (The Leftovers, Hostiles, Waltz with Bashir, Taboo, White Boy Rick, Miss Sloane). The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on December 7, 2018 by Deutsche Grammophon. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD version. Mary Queen of Scots is directed by Josie Rourke and stars Saoirse Ronan, Margot Robbie, Jack Lowden, Joe Alwyn, Gemma Chan, Ismael Cordova, Adrian Lester, David Tennant, James McArdle and Guy Pearce. The movie is based on John Guy’s biography My Heart is My Own: The Life of Mary Queen of Scots and explores the turbulent life of the charismatic Mary Stuart. Lex Records has released a soundtrack album for the indie comedy An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn. The album features the film’s original music composed by Andrew Hung (The Greasy Strangler). Arturo Sandoval is composing the original score for the upcoming crime drama The Mule. The film is directed by Clint Eastwood (Unforgiven, Million Dollar Baby) who also stars in the movie alongside Bradley Cooper, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Pena, Dianne Wiest, Andy Garcia, Alison Eastwood, Taissa Farmiga, Ignacio Serricchio, Loren Dean and Eugene Cordero. The movie tells the true story of Earl Stone, a man in his 80s who signs on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. Decca Records has released a soundtrack album for the ITV and Amazon mini-series Vanity Fair. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, The Split, Vita and Virginia). Also included is the drama’s title song All Along The Watchtower by Afterhere, as well as tracks by Jade Bird, Paloma Faith, Agnes Abel and Laura Mvula. The soundtrack is now available digitally in the UK. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s third season composed by John Paesano (The Maze Runner, The Defenders, Spider-Man video game, Dragons: Riders of Berk, The Star).
