Premiering tonight is the Showtime docu-series The Fourth Estate directed by Liz Garbus about how the New York Times covered President Trump’s first year in office. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) composed the show’s main titles theme and H. Scott Salinas (City of Ghosts, Cartel Land, The Ballad of Lefty Brown) provided the original score. Also premiering tonight is the new CNN docu-series 1968: The Year That Changed America about the year marked by the assassinations of MLK and RFK, a contentious presidential election, escalating anti-Vietnam War sentiment and more. Nathaniel Blume (The Flash, Deception) who previously co-scored CNN’s The Seventies, The Eighties and The Nineties with Blake Neely has composed the 4-parter’s original music. ‘Adrift’ Soundtrack Details

Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the survival drama Adrift. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka) (Lion, Patrick Melrose, Gunpowder, The Current War). The soundtrack will be released on June 1, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Adrift is directed by Baltasar Kormákur (Everest, 2 Guns) and stars Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin. The movie tells the true story of Tami Oldham, who, after being knocked unconscious by the largest hurricane in the history of the Pacific Ocean, awakens to find her fiancé badly injured, their boat in ruins, and no means of communication or navigation. Benjamin Wallfisch & Alex Lu have recently scored the upcoming psychological thriller Nomis. The film is written and directed by David Raymond and stars Henry Cavill, Ben Kingsley, Alexandra Daddario, Stanley Tucci, Nathan Fillion, Minka Kelly, Brendan Fletcher and Mpho Koaho. The only movie opening nationwide this week is Solo: A Star Wars Story directed by Ron Howard and starring Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Paul Bettany. The film’s original score is composed by John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity) and John Williams  (Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark) contributed the Han Solo theme. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ music. Opening in limited release is the sci-fi comedy How to Talk to Girls at Parties directed by John Cameron Mitchell and stars Elle Fanning, Alex Sharp, Nicole Kidman and Ruth Wilson. Nico Muhly (The Reader, Margaret), Jamie Stewart of Xiu Xiu and Matmos have written original music for the film. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the original music, as well as tracks by The Damned, The Dyschords, The Velvet Underground, A.C. Newman & others. Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the political drama Shock and Awe. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Rome, Monk, Appaloosa, Pollock, Ugly Betty). The soundtrack will be released on July 13, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Shock and Awe is directed by Rob Reiner and stars Woody Harrelson, James Marsden, Tommy Lee Jones, Reiner himself, Milla Jovovich, Jessica Biel, Luke Tennie and Richard Schiff. The movie tells the story about the real-life journalists who first looked into the Bush Administration’s attempts to tie Saddam Hussein to the 9/11 terror attacks despite a lack of true evidence to support the claim. The full details of the soundtrack album for Brett Haley’s musical comedy drama Hearts Beat Loud have been revealed. The album features the film’s original songs written by Keegan DeWitt (Divorce, Gemini, Morris from America) who also provided the movie’s score and previously composed the music for the director’s I’ll See You in My Dreams and The Hero. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on June 8 by Milan Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The first tracks from the album performed by DeWitt & Kiersey Clemons is already available to download here. Hearts Beat Loud is co-written and directed by Haley and stars Nick Offerman, Kiersey Clemons, Ted Danson, Sasha Lane, Blythe Danner and Toni Collette. Cinetunes has released a soundtrack album for the animated feature Luis and the Aliens. The album features the film’s original music composed by Martin Lingnau & Ingmar Süberkrüb, as well as the original song Say Hey written by the composers and performed by Paul Köninger. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Luis and the Aliens is written and directed by Wolfgang Lauenstein & Christoph Lauenstein, co-directed by Sean McCormack and tells the story of Luis, a 12-year-old boy who makes friends with three little aliens who crash their spaceship near Luis’ house. The album features the film’s original music composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Martian, Shrek, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 25 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Breath is co-written and directed by Baker who also stars in the movie alongside Samson Coulter, Ben Spence and Elizabeth Debicki.
