La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere release of the original score to the 1964-65 classic animated Hanna-Barbera adventure television series Jonny Quest. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by William Hanna, Joseph Barbera and Hoyt Curtin (The Flintstones, Scooby Doo, Top Cat). Curtin also served as a music director on the show alongside Ted Nichols. The 2-CD set is limited to 3000 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to audio samples.
Christopher Lennertz to Score Sony Pictures Animation’s ‘Smurfs: The Lost Village’

Christopher Lennertz has been hired to score the upcoming animated feature Smurfs: The Lost Village. The film is directed by Kelly Asbury (Shrek 2, Gnomeo & Juliet) and features the voice talent of Demi Lovato, Rainn Wilson, Mandy Patinkin, Joe Manganiello, Jack McBrayer and Danny Pudi. The movie follows Smurfette and her brothers Hefty, Clumsy and Brainy trekking through the uncharted Enchanted Forest to try and discover a fabled Smurfs village. Trevor Morris is the new composer of the Freeform original series Shadowhunters. The show is based on the book series The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare and stars Katherine McNamara, Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, Emeraude Toubia, Matthew Daddario, Isaiah Mustafa, David Castro and Harry Shum Jr. Morris is scoring the drama’s second season and follows Ben Decter who composed the music for the first season, which premiered earlier this year. Patrick Doyle confirmed in a recent interview with BBC Radio 3 that is reteaming with Kenneth Branagh on the upcoming new film adaptation of Murder on the Orient Express. The film stars Branagh as detective Hercule Poirot, alongside Johnny Depp, Michelle Pfeiffer, Daisy Ridley, Judi Dench, Lucy Boynton, Tom Bateman, Derek Jacobi, Michael Peņa and Leslie Odom Jr. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Agatha Christie and follows Poirot as he investigates the murder of a wealthy American traveling on a train.
