Grimes has written the theme song for the new Netflix animated series Hilda. The track, which also features vocals by the singer/songwriter, opens every episode of the show’s first season. Dan Mangan (Hector and the Search for Happiness) has composed the underscore for several episodes, as well as the end titles theme of the show. The other episodes are scored by Ryan Carlson for Vapor RMW. Hilda is created by Luke Pearson based on his comic book series and features the voices of Bella Ramsey as the title character, as well as Ameerah Falzon-Ojo, Oliver Nelson, Daisy Haggard and Rasmus Hardiker. RCA Records will release a new soundtrack album for the HBO original series Insecure. The album features the songs from the show’s third season by artists including Miguel, Childish Major, Radiant Children, Victoria Monet, Opal, Peyton, LION BABE, Cautious Clay, Siaira Shawn, Derrius Logan & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 21 and will be available to download on Amazon. The label has previously released two soundtrack albums for the series’ first two seasons, as well as several digital singles. Universal Music will release the official soundtrack album for the Netflix original documentary Quincy. The album features the original song Keep Reachin’ by Quincy Jones & Mark Ronson feat. Chaka Khan. Also included are several classic tracks by Jones, as well as songs by Ray Charles, The Brothers Johnson and Lesley Gore. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross have been hired to score HBO’s upcoming television adaptation of Alan Moore’s graphic novel Watchmen. The show is developed by Damon Lindelof (Lost, The Leftovers, Prometheus) and stars Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Andrew Howard, Tom Mison and Frances Fisher. Walt Disney Records has released the original end credits song Zero from Disney Animation’s upcoming feature Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2. The track is written and performed by Imagine Dragons and is now available as a digital single on Amazon. Also check out the lyrics video after the jump. Lorne Balfe has signed on to score the upcoming action thriller 6 Underground. The film is directed by Michael Bay (Transformers, Armageddon, The Rock) and stars Ryan Reynolds, Corey Hawkins, Dave Franco, Melanie Laurent, Adria Ariona, Manuel Garcia-Ruffo, Ben Hardy, Lior Raz and Payman Maadi. No plot details have been announced yet for the Netflix original movie, which is scripted by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool, Zombieland). Bay is also producing the project with Ian Bryce (Saving Private Ryan, Twister), as well as Skydance Media’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg & Don Granger (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation). Lionsgate Records will release a new soundtrack album for the OWN original series Greenleaf. The album features a selections of songs from the show’s third season performed by artists including Mavis Staples, Josiah Bell, Chimere Scott, Koryn Hawthorne & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 28, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on iTunes. Two songs, Changed by Patti LaBelle & Deborah Joy Winans and A Leak in the Building by Voice of Atlanta are already available as digital singles. Jeremy Zuckerman has announced that he is set to compose the music for Netflix’s upcoming live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The show is based on the animated Nickelodeon series, which aired between 2005 and 2008 and follows the adventures of Aang and his friends who live in world, which is divided into four nations — the Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads — each represented by a natural element for which the nation is named. Original series’ creators Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko are developing the live-action adaptation.
