La-La Land Records has announced the details of the 20th Anniversary expanded soundtrack album for Terrence Malick’s 1998 drama The Thin Red Line starring Sean Penn, Adrien Brody and Woody Harrelson. The 4-CD set features the expanded and remastered Academy Award-nominated music from the 20th Century Fox production composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Inception, The Lion King), including the film score as written in chronological film order on the first two discs, the remastered original 1999 soundtrack album on the third disc and RCA’s album of Melanesian chants from the movie on the fourth disc. Premiering on Tuesday, February 5, is the BET original series American Soul created by Devon Greggory & Jonathan Prince and starring Sinqua Walls, Jason Dirden, Iantha Richardson, Christopher Jefferson, Katlyn Nichol and Jelani Winston. The show’s original music is composed by Kurt Farquhar (Black Lightning, The King of Queens, Stitchers, The Neighborhood). Leo Birenberg (Cobra Kai, Son of Zorn, Kung Fu Panda: Paws of Destiny) is composing the show’s original music.
