The only movie opening nationwide this week is the action thriller Miss Bala directed by Catherine Hardwicke and starring Gina Rodriguez, Ismael Cruz Córdova and Anthony Mackie. The film’s original music is composed by Alex Heffes (The Last King of Scotland, Roots, Touching the Void, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score (click here for the album details). Opening in limited release this week is the survival drama Arctic co-written and directed by Joe Penna and starring Mads Mikkelsen. Joseph Trapanese (Oblivion, Straight Outta Compton, The Greatest Showman, Allegiant, Robin Hood) has composed the film’s original music.
