Quartet Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Spanish/French/Chilean drama The Movie Teller (La contadora de películas). The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Fernando Velázquez (The Impossible, A Monster Calls, The Orphanage, Hercules, Devil, Crimson Peak). The soundtrack will be released next week and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. A limited edition CD is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. The Movie Teller is directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education) and stars Bérénice Bejo, Antonio de la Torre, Daniel Brühl, Alondra Valenzuela and Sara Becker. The movie tells the story of a young woman uses her storytelling gifts to share the magic of the pictures she has seen in the cinema with the poor inhabitants of a desert mining community.

Fernando Velazquez (The Impossible, The Orphanage, A Monster Calls, Crimson Peak, Hercules, Devil) is attached to score the upcoming drama The Movie Teller. The film will be directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education, One Day) and is set to star Bérénice Bejo and Antonio de la Torre. The movie is based on Hernán Rivera Letelier’s novel of the same title and tells the story a young girl growing up in a mining town in the heart of Chile’s Atacama desert during the 1960s, where a movie house represents the sole distraction for hundreds of working class families. Walter Salles (The Motorcycle Diaries, Central Station) & Rafa Russo (Twice Upon a Yesterday, Get Her…If You Can) wrote the screenplay.
‘The Kindness of Strangers’ Soundtrack Details
Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack album for the drama The Kindness of Strangers. The album features the film’s original music composed by Andrew Lockington (San Andreas, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Rampage, Frontier, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, February 14 and will be available to stream/download here. The Kindness of Strangers is written and directed by Lone Scherfig and stars Zoe Kazan, Andrea Riseborough, Caleb Landry Jones, Jay Baruchel, Bill Nighy and Tahar Rahim. The movie centers on six strangers’ lives that intersect in a modern tale of ordinary people struggling to find help, hope and love in New York City.

PlantSounds has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 2002 Danish/Scottish drama Wilbur Wants to Kill Himself co-written and directed by Lone Scherfig and starring Jamie Sives, Adrian Rawlins, Shirley Henderson, Lisa McKinlay, Mads Mikkelsen and Julia Davis. The 5-track EP features the original score from the Zentropa Entertainment production composed by Joachim Holbek (Europa, Nightwatch, Manderlay, Just Another Love Story). Andrew Lockington (San Andreas, Rampage, Journey to the Center of the Earth) is reteaming with director Richie Mehta on the upcoming mini-series Delhi Crime Story. The 7-parter is written and directed by Mehta and stars Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Rajesh Tailang, Adil Hussain, Gopal Datt and Vinod Sherawat. The drama is based on a. true story and follows the Delhi Police during their investigation of a horrific gang rape of a young woman on a bus in 2012.

Mark Korven is attached to score Lone Scherfig’s next, currently untitled next feature, previously known as Secrets from the Russian Tea Room. Rachel Portman Scoring Lone Scherfig’s ‘Their Finest Hour and a Half’
Rachel Portman has recently recorded her score for the upcoming screwball comedy Their Finest Hour and a Half. The film is directed by Lone Scherfig (An Education, Italian for Beginners) and stars Gemma Arterton, Bill Nighy, Sam Claflin, Jack Huston and Claudia Jessie. The movie is based on the novel by Lissa Evans and follows a British movie crew trying to make a patriotic film to boost morale after the Blitz during World War II, only for a battle of the sexes to ensue. Gaby Chiappe has written the screenplay. Amanda Posey (Brooklyn, Fever Pitch) & Stephen Woolley (Interview with the Vampire, Carol, The Crying Game) are producing the BBC Films and HanWay production.
‘The Riot Club’ Soundtrack Announced
Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for Lone Scherfig’s drama The Riot Club. The album features the film’s original music composed by Kasper Winding (The Salvation). Also included is the song We’re Out There Somewhere performed by Graham Coxon of Blur. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 17, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Kasper Winding Scoring ‘The Salvation’ and Lone Scherfig’s ‘Posh’
Kasper Winding has recently recorded his score for the upcoming western The Salvation at Abbey Road Studios in London. The film is directed by Kristian Levring (Fear Me Not) and stars Mads Mikkelsen, Eva Green, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jonathan Pryce, Eric Cantona, Mikael Persbrandt, Douglas Henshall and Michael Raymond-James. The movie is set in 1870s America where a settler kills his family’s murderer and unleashes the fury of a notorious gang leader. Levring has co-written the screenplay with Anders Thomas Jensen (In a Better World, Brothers). Sisse Graum Jørgensen (The Hunt, A Royal Affair) is producing the project for Zentropa Productions.
