Verve Records has released the original song Why I’m Here from the Netflix original film Shirley. The track is co-written (with PJ Morton) and performed by Grammy Award-winning jazz singer Samara Joy and is now available to stream on all major digital music services, including Amazon. The details of the full soundtrack album for the National Geographic original documentary series Queens have been revealed. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Morgan Kibby (aka White Sea) (The Watcher, Mothering Sunday, The PowerGirls of the SunGrand Army, Wilderness, Tales of the Walking Dead). Also included is Alewya’s main title song Umi, which is already out now as a digital single. Tenacious D (Jack Black & Kyle Gass) have recorded a new version of the Britney Spears hit song …Baby One More Time for DreamWorks Animation’s sequel Kung Fu Panda 4. The track (originally written by Max Martin) is produced by John Spiker (who co-wrote Black’s original song Peaches from last year’s The Super Mario Bros. Movie) and features an orchestral arrangement by the film’s composers Hans Zimmer & Steve Mazzaro and Òscar Senén. The song is featured during the movie’s end titles sequence and will be included on the movie’s official soundtrack album, which will be released next week by Back Lot Music. BBC announced today that Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Inception, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Interstellar) & James Everingham (Apollo: Missions to the Moon, The Real Right Stuff) feat. Shashwat Sachdev (Uri: The Surgical Strike, Selection Day) will compose the title theme and original score for the upcoming BBC series Virdee  for Bleeding Fingers Music. Trainees from Screen Academy Bradford will also be joining Bleeding Fingers to get a hands-on experience of composing for screen and to assist with the composing of the series score. The show is created by AA Dhand based on his own novels and stars Staz Nair, Aysha Kala, Nina Singh, Kulvinder Ghir, Vikash Bhai and Sudha Bhuchar. The 6-part crime thriller directed by Mark Tonderai (Spell, House at the End of the Street) follows a cop disowned by his Sikh family for marrying a Muslim who must hunt down a serial killer targeting the Asian community. Walt Disney Records will release the official soundtrack album for the Disney+ original animated event series Iwájú. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Ré Olunuga (Rise, Girl, Coming from Insanity, Up North). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 1 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Iwájú written by Olufikayo Ziki Adeola & Halima Hudson and features the voice talent of Simisola Gbadamosi, Dayo Okeniyi, Femi Branch, Siji Soetan and Weruche Opia. The Walt Disney Animation Studios and Kugali production is set in a futuristic Lagos, Nigeria and tells the coming-of-age story follows a young girl from the wealthy island, and her best friend, a self-taught tech expert, as they discover the secrets and dangers hidden in their different worlds. .
