Caldera Records has announced the world premiere release of two scores composed by David Shire (The Conversation, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, All the President’s Men, Zodiac, Return to Oz, Short Circuit). The album features the composer’s unused score from the 1993 crime drama Deadfall (ultimately scored by Jim Fox) co-written and directed by Christopher Coppola and starring Michael Biehn, Sarah Trigger, Nicolas Cage, James Coburn, Charlie Sheen, Talia Shire & Peter Fonda, as well as his music from the 1998 television movie I Married a Monster directed by Nancy Malone and starring Richard Burgi and Susan Walters. Caldera Records has announced the premiere release of the unused score from the 1979 legal drama Kramer vs. Kramer written and directed by Robert Benton and starring Dustin Hoffman, Meryl Streep and Jane Alexander. The CD features music written for the Academy Award-winning film by David Shire (The Conversation, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, Return to Oz, All the President’s Men, Zodiac, Short Circuit). Also included is the composer’s Emmy Award-nominated score from the 1978 television movie The Defection of Simas Kudirka written by Bruce Feldman, directed by David Lowell Rich and starring Alan Arkin, as well as twenty minutes of his music from the 1982 comedy drama The World According to Garp directed by George Roy Hill and starring Robin Williams.

Silva Screen Records will a new soundtrack album for the 1974 thriller The Conversation written and directed by Francis Ford Coppola and starring Gene Hackman, John Cazale, Cindy Williams, Allen Garfield, Frederic Forrest, Teri Garr, Harrison Ford and Robert Duvall. The album features the remastered original score from the Academy Award-nominated film composed by David Shire (The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, All the President’s Men, Zodiac, Short Circuit). Music Box Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1988 psychological horror thriller Monkey Shines: An Experiment in Fear directed by George A. Romero and starring Jason Beghe, John Pankow, Kate McNeil and Joyce Van Patten. The album features the film’s expanded original score composed and conducted by David Shire (The Conversation, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, All the President’s Men, Short Circuit, Zodiac), including 25 minutes of previously unreleased music. La-La Land Records has announced the first-ever release of the unused score for Francis Ford Coppola’s 1979 classic war drama Apocalypse Now starring Marlon Brando, Robert Duvall, Martin Sheen, Frederic Forrest, Albert Hall, Sam Bottoms, Larry Fishburne and Dennis Hopper. The music is composed by David Shire (The Conversation, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three, Zodiac, Return to Oz). David Shire Scoring ‘Love After Love’
David Shire (All the President’s Men, The Conversation, Zodiac, Short Circuit) has recently scored the upcoming indie drama Love After Love. The film is directed by Russell Harbaugh and stars Chris O’Dowd, Andie MacDowell, James Adomian, Juliet Rylance, Dree Hemingway and Gareth Williams. The movie revolves around a mother and her two adult sons as they deal with the death of their family’s patriarch. Harbaugh also co-wrote the screenplay with Eric Mendelsohn. Lucas Joaquin (Love Is Strange, Little Men), Lauren Haber (Trophy) and Michael Prall (The Mend, The Strange Ones) are producing the project.
