Composer Tuomas Kantelinen (Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan, The Adventurers, Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend, Mother of Mine, Iron Sky: The Coming Race) is reuniting with director Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, Die Hard 2) on the upcoming action thriller The Beast. The film is and stars Samuel L. Jackson as the U.S. president who is forced to drive the presidential limousine when a militia of unidentified hostiles coordinates a coup against the country and unlock the full extent of The Beast’s highly classified offensive capabilities to save his injured Secret Service agent, reunite with his wife, and save the world. Joel Kinnaman and Guy Burnet are also starring in the movie.

Fernando Velazquez Scoring Renny Harlin’s ‘Deep Water’
Fernando Velazquez (The Impossible, A Monster Calls, The Orphanage, Crimson Peak, Hercules, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Devil) has composed the original music for the upcoming shark thriller Deep Water. The film is directed by Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger) and stars Aaron Eckhart, Angus Sampson, Ben Kingsley, Lucy Barrett and Molly Belle Wright. The movie follows a group of international passengers en route from Los Angeles to Shanghai who are forced to make an emergency landing and soon discover they’re not alone and they must survive the shark infested waters.

The albums features the composer’s original score from the first and final part of the trilogy and will be released digitally tomorrow, March 10. BT’s ‘Driven’ Score Released
Binary Acoustics has released the first-ever score album for the 2001 sports action drama Driven directed by Renny Harlin and starring Sylvester Stallone (who also wrote the screenplay), Burt Reynolds, Kip Pardue, Til Schweiger, Estella Warren, Gina Gershon and Cristian de la Fuente. The album features the film’s original score composed by BT (The Fast and the Furious, Monster, Catch and Release, Go!, Under Suspicion, Solace) The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Quartet Records has announced a reissue of the expanded soundtrack album for the 1995 action adventure Cutthroat Island directed by Renny Harlin and starring Geena Davis, Matthew Modine and Frank Langella The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf, Iron Man 2, Hocus Pocus, The Emperor’s New Groove) and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra and the London Voices The CD, which is limited to 1,000 copies, includes the same program as the 2016 expanded album released by La-La Land Records is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also learn more about the release. Quartet has also announced the world premiere vinyl edition of the soundtrack (limited to 750 copies), which is available to order here.

Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1993 action thriller Cliffhanger directed by Renny Harlin and starring Sylvester Stallone, John Lithgow, Michael Rooker & Janine Turner featuring music composed by Trevor Jones (The Dark Crystal, The Last of the Mohicans, Merlin, Labyrinth, Mississippi Burning, Dark City, Excalibur). The album, which is being released to coincide with the movie’s 30th anniversary, features the same content as the (sold out) expanded 2017 soundtrack released by La-La Land Records. The 2-CD set, which is limited to 1,000 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to audio samples. The label has also announced the premiere vinyl release of the title featuring selections of Jones’ score.

The movie follows a former CIA operative who is forced out of retirement to confront and unravel an international conspiracy.
