Trevor Jones will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 26th World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony & Concert, the closing event of Film Fest Gent’s WSA Film Music Days 2026. During the concert, a selection of the composer’s work will be performed by the Brussels Philharmonic conducted by Dirk Brossé. Jones has composed scores for over 100 films and television projects, including John Boorman’s Excalibur (1981), Frank Oz’s The Dark Crystal (1982), Jim Henson’s Labyrinth (1986), Alan Parker’s Mississippi Burning (1988), Frank Marshall’s Arachnophobia (1990), Michael Mann’s The Last of the Mohicans (1992), Renny Harlin’s Cliffhanger (1993), Jim Sheridan’s In the Name of the Father (1993), Ridley Scott’s G.I. Jane (1997), Alex Proyas’ Dark City (1998), Roger Michell’s Notting Hill (1999), Roger Donaldson’s Thirteen Days (2000) and Stephen Norrington’s The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003).

Expanded ‘The Dark Crystal’ Soundtrack Album Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1982 fantasy adventure The Dark Crystal directed by Jim Henson & Frank Oz and starring Stephen Garlick, Lisa Maxwell, Billie Whitelaw, Barry Dennen and Percy Edwards. The 3-CD set features the expanded original score written for the film’s initial cut composed by Trevor Jones (The Last of the Mohicans, Cliffhanger, Labyrinth, Mississippi Burning, Merlin, Dark City, Excalibur) and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Marcus Dods, including previously unreleased music. The soundtrack, which is limited to 5,000 copies, is now available to order on Amazon and the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the album. A digital version will be available in the coming months (click here to stream/download) The Dark Crystal is now available on VOD, Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD and DVD.
‘Cliffhanger’ 30th Anniversary Edition Soundtrack Album Announced
Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1993 action thriller Cliffhanger directed by Renny Harlin and starring Sylvester Stallone, John Lithgow, Michael Rooker & Janine Turner featuring music composed by Trevor Jones (The Dark Crystal, The Last of the Mohicans, Merlin, Labyrinth, Mississippi Burning, Dark City, Excalibur). The album, which is being released to coincide with the movie’s 30th anniversary, features the same content as the (sold out) expanded 2017 soundtrack released by La-La Land Records. The 2-CD set, which is limited to 1,000 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to audio samples. The label has also announced the premiere vinyl release of the title featuring selections of Jones’ score.
Trevor Jones to Score Myles Clohessy’s ‘The Redeemer’
Trevor Jones (The Dark Crystal, The Last of the Mohicans, Labyrinth, Merlin, Mississippi Burning, Cliffhanger, Excalibur, Dark City) has signed on to score the upcoming indie western The Redeemer. The film is written and directed by Myles Clohessy and stars Chris Mulkey, Titus Welliver, Brandon Routh, Robert Clohessy, Mo Brings Plenty, Eddie Spears, Irene Bedard, Timothy V. Murphy and Baylee Toney. The movie tells the story of Butch a washed up war hero in 1880s Montana who embark on a life-or-death rescue mission into the frontier, alongside his estranged son, to save his Indigenous wife and daughter-in-law after they are kidnapped by a gang of violent outlaws.
‘To Tokyo’ Soundtrack Album Details
Contemporary Media Recordings will release a soundtrack album for the British fantasy horror thriller To Tokyo. The album features the film’s original music composed by Trevor Jones (The Dark Crystal, The Last of the Mohicans, Excalibur, Mississippi Burning, Cliffhanger, Labyrinth, Merlin, Dark City). The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 27, 2021 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. To Tokyo is directed by Caspar Seale Jones and stars Florence Kosky, Emily Seale-Jones and Luke Edward Smith. The movie follows a young woman hiding from her past in a remote Japanese village as she is abducted into a fantastic wilderness and pursued by a monster through Tokyo.
Expanded ‘Nate and Hayes’ Soundtrack Announced
Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1983 adventure movie Nate and Hayes directed by Ferdinand Fairfax and starring Tommy Lee Jones, Michael O’Keefe, Max Phipps and Jenny Seagrove. The album features the expanded original score from the Paramount Pictures production composed by Trevor Jones (The Dark Crystal, The Last of the Mohicans, Labyrinth, Highlander, From Hell), including around 40 minutes of previously unreleased music, plus alternate and source cues. The 2-CD set is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and the track list.

Premiering on Wednesday, May 21 is the Fox drama Gang Related created by Chris Morgan (Wanted, Fast Five) and starring Ramon Rodriguez, RZA, Sung Kang, Terry O’Quinn, Inbar Lavi, Shantel VanSanten, Cliff Curtis and Jay Hernandez. The show’s original music is composed by Photek (Dreamland) who is best known as a record producer and DJ and who has done remixes for Nine Inch Nails, Moby, Lana Del Rey, David Bowie, Bjork and more.
