Premiering tonight is the HBO limited series Task created by Brad Inglesby and starring Mark Ruffalo, Tom Pelphrey, Emilia Jones, Thuso Mbedu, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Raúl Castillo, Fabien Frankel, Alison Oliver, Silvia Dionicio, Phoebe Fox and Martha Plimpton. The show’s original music is composed by Dan Deacon (Venom: The Last Dance, Hustle, The Changeling, Rez Ball,Twixt, Strawberry Mansion, Ascension, Wedding Season). Premiering in the U.S. tomorrow, September 8, is the British TV series The Crow Girl developed by Milly Thomas based on Erik Axl Sund’s bestselling novel of the same title and starring Eve Myles, Katherine Kelly, Dougray Scott and Elliot Edusah. Adam Price (Apartment 7A, Curfew) has composed the show’s original music. Lorne Balfe serves as the project’s score producer. MovieScore Media has released a soundtrack album featuring Price’s score earlier this year when the crime thriller premiered in tbe UK on Paramount+. Theodore Shapiro has won his second Emmy Award for his score for the episode Cold Harbor from the second season of the Apple TV+ original series Severance in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Series category at tonight’s first night of the 77th Creative Prime Emmy Awards. He previously won his first Emmy for his music from Season 1 back in 2022 and was also nominated for his main title theme. Mick Giacchino received his first Emmy Award in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited or Anthology Series, Movie or Special category for his score from the episode After Hours of the HBO series The Penguin. Cristobal Tapia de Veer has won his fourth Emmy Award for his theme for the third season of HBO”s The White Lotus in the Outstanding Main Title Theme Music category.
