Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the supernatural horror sequel The Conjuring: Last Rites directed by Michael Chaves and starring Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, Ben Hardy and Mia Tomlinson. The film’s original music is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Twisters, Alien: Romulus, Blade Runner 2049, The Flash, Hidden Figures, Annabelle Creation, Mortal Kombat, Shazam!). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last Friday. Check out our previous news article for the full album details and to learn more about the New Line Cinema production, which is being released by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Opening semi-wide in around 600 theaters this weekend is the comedy drama Twinless written and directed by James Sweeney and starring Dylan O’Brien, Sweeney himself, Lauren Graham, Chris Perfetti, Aisling Franciosi, and Tasha Smith. Jaeil Jung (Parasite, Squid Game, Mickey 17, Okja, Broker) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. ‘The Cut’ Soundtrack Album Details

Dubois Records will release a soundtrack album for the boxing drama The Cut. The album features the film’s original music composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead Reckoning, Black Widow, His Dark Materials, Bad Boys for Life, Top Gun: Maverick, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F) & Stuart Michael Thomas (Midnight Bayou, Bustin’ Down the Door, Northern Lights, Blue Smoke). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 5 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to two tracks from the composers’ score below. The Cut is directed by Sean Ellis and stars Orlando Bloom, John Turturro, Caitríona Balfe, Gary Beadle, Ed Kear and Clare Dunne. The movie follows a former champion who is obsessed with getting back in the ring and goes through an unsanctioned and grueling weight cut program with a coach who knows no limits.

Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead Reckoning, Black Widow, Bad Boys for Life, Top Gun: Maverick, His Dark Materials, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F) & Stuart Michael Thomas (Midnight Bayou, Northern Lights, Bustin’ Down the Door, Blue Smoke) have composed the original music for the upcoming boxing drama The Cut. The film is directed by Sean Ellis (Anthropoid, Cashback) and stars Orlando Bloom, John Turturro and Caitríona Balfe. The movie follows a retired fighter who is obsessed with getting back in the ring and goes through a grueling and unsanctioned weight cut program with a coach who knows no limits.

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Expected to top the weekend box office is the sci-fi action adventure The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials directed by Wes Ball and starring Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Ki Hong Lee, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Patricia Clarkson, Giancarlo Esposito, Nathalie Emmanuel, Rosa Salazar, Aidan Gillen, Jacob Lofland, Barry Pepper and Lili Taylor. The film’s original music is composed by John Paesano (Daredevil, When the Game Stands Tall) who previously scored the first part in the series. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Also opening wide is the crime drama Black Mass directed by Scott Cooper and starring Johnny Depp, Joel Edgerton, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kevin Bacon, Dakota Johnson, Jesse Plemons, Corey Stoll, Rory Cochrane, Sienna Miller and Adam Scott. Tom Holkenborg (Mad Max: Fury Road, Divergent, 300: Rise of an Empire) has composed the film’s original score. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Soundtrack Album for Fatih Akin’s ‘The Cut’ Announced

Bureau B will release a soundtrack album for Fatih Akin’s historical drama The Cut. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alexander Hacke. Also included is an Armenian version of the song Everything To Get You Back by Hindi Zahra. The soundtrack will be released overseas on October 17, 2014. No word yet on a domestic release date. The Cut is co-written and directed by Akin (Head-On, Soul Kitchen) and stars Tahar Rahim, Simon Abkarian, Makram J. Khoury, Hindi Zahra, Kevork Malikyan, Bartu Kucukcaglayan, Trine Dyrholm and Moritz Bleibtreu. The movie follows a man who survives the 1915 Armenian genocide during the First World War, but loses his family, speech and faith.
