MovieScore Media will release a soundtrack album for the horror movie Honeydew. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Mehrmann (Loud Noises). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 16 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Honeydew is written and directed by Devereux Milburn and stars Sawyer Spielberg, Malin Barr and Barbara Kingsley. The movie centers a young couple who are forced to seek shelter in the home of an aging farmer and her peculiar son and soon begin having strange cravings and hallucinations. The film is directed by Tim Kirkby (Action Point, Brockmire) and stars Charlie Hunnam, Morena Baccarin, Mel Gibson, Dominic Monaghan, Eiza Gonzalez, Paul-Ben Victor, Jacob Scipio, Lucy Fry, Rupert Friend and Clancy Brown. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Howard Gould and follows a disgraced LAPD detective who has spent the past three years living off the grid, when he is reluctantly pulled back into his old life by a former lover in order to solve the murder of an eccentric celebrity’s wife. Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1994 action thriller Drop Zone directed by John Badham and starring Wesley Snipes, Gary Busey, Yancy Butler, Michael Jeter, Luca Bercovici and Kyle Secor. The album features the expanded score from the Paramount Pictures production composed by Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, The Dark Knight, Inception, Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar, Rain Man, Gladiator), as well as additional music by Nick Glennie-Smith and John Van Tongeren. The limited edition CD, which is limited to 1,500 copies, includes around 30 minutes of previously unreleased music and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more details about the release. Netflix announced today that Riki Lindhome and Kate Micucci are writing original music for the upcoming animated comedy Steps. The film is directed by Alyce Tzue and tells the story of two stepsisters who are overlooked for marriage by the Prince and embark on an epic journey, realizing that their own perfect fairytales might be different from what they originally thought. Lindhome is also writing the screenplay based on a story by herself and Micucci. Composer Rob (aka Robin Coudert) (Maniac, Revenge, Gretel & Hansel, Troy: Fall of a City, Planetarium, Amityville: The Awakening) is reuniting with director Alexandre Aja on the upcoming Netflix original film Oxygen. The survival thriller starring Mélanie Laurent, Mathieu Amalric and Malik Zidi tells the story of a young woman who wakes up in a cryogenic pod, not remembering who she is or how she ended up there, and must rebuild her memory to find a way out of her nightmare.
