Netflix has announced the world premiere live-to-screen performance of the Academy Award-nominated score composed by Jonny Greenwood (Phantom Thread, There Will Be Blood, Inherent Vice, Spencer) from Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog. The music will be performed by the Wordless Music Orchestra, which has previously been involved in live-to-picture concerts for films including Moonlight, Jackie, The Tree of Life, Creed, Punch-Drunk Love, Birdman and Beasts of the Southern Wild. The event present by Netflix in partnership with KCRW will take on March 10 at 7:30pm at The Theatre at Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. ‘The Power of the Dog’ Soundtrack Album Details
The full details of the soundtrack album for Jane Campion’s western The Power of the Dog have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Jonny Greenwood (Phantom Thread, There Will Be Blood, Spencer, Inherent Vice, The Master). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 17 by Lakeshore and INVADA Records and is now available for pre-order here. Two first tracks have been released as a digital single last month (listen to both tracks after the jump). The Power of the Dog is written and directed by Campion and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Frances Conroy, Thomasin McKenzie, Keith Carradine and Geneviève Lemon. The movie follows a domineering but charismatic rancher who wages a war of intimidation on his brother’s new wife and her teen son – until long-hidden secrets come to light.

Film at Lincoln Center confirmed this week that Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood (Phantom Thread, There Will Be Blood, Inherent Vice, The Master, You Were Never Really Here) has composed the original score for the upcoming drama The Power of the Dog. The film is written and directed by Jane Campion (The Piano, The Portrait of a Lady) and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons and Kodi Smit-McPhee. The movie is based on Thomas Savage 1967 novel of the same name and follows a domineering, magnetic rancher who responds with mocking cruelty when his brother brings home a new wife and her son, until the unexpected comes to pass.
‘Top of the Lake’ Soundtrack Relased
See-Saw Films has released a soundtrack album for BBC’s and the Sundance Channel’s mini-series Top of the Lake. The album features the original score from the seven-part series composed by Mark Bradshaw (Bright Star). Also included are songs by Howlin’ Wolf, Smokie, Straitjacket Fits, Georgi Kay and Split Enz. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon. Audio clips are available after the jump. Mark Bradshaw has been hired to score BBC’s and Sundance Channel’s mini-series Top of the Lake. The seven-part series is helmed by Academy Award-winning director Jane Campion (The Piano) and Australian director Garth Davis and stars Elisabeth Moss, Holly Hunter, Peter Mullan and David Wenham. The drama is set in New Zealand and follows the disappearance of a five-months pregnant 12-year-old girl who was last seen standing chest-deep in a frozen lake. Emile Sherman & Iain Canning (The King’s Speech, Shame) are producing the project for See-Saw Films and Philippa Campbell (Black Sheep) is producing for Escapade Pictures. Campion has written the teleplay with Gerard Lee (Sweetie).
