The show is created by Jason Segel who also stars in the drama, alongside André Benjamin, Sally Field, Octavio Coleman, Richard E. Grant and Eve Lindley. The AMC Studios production centers around four ordinary people who stumble onto a puzzle hiding just behind the veil of everyday life and come to find that the mystery winds deeper than they imagined.

Anne Nikitin to Score Sky’s ‘Little Birds’
Anne Nikitin (American Animals, Mrs. Wilson, Calibre, This Beautiful Fantastic) has been hired to score the upcoming Sky original series Little Birds. The show is written by author Sophia Al-Maria (The Girl Who Fell to Earth) based on Anais Nin’s collection of erotic short stories and stars Juno Temple, Yumna Marwan, Raphael Acloque, Hugh Skinner, Nina Sosanya, Rossy De Palma David Costabile, Amy Landecker and Matt Lauria. The 6-parter is set in Tangier in 1955, in one of the last outposts of colonial decadence, and follows troubled American debutante as she faces a culture shock. Stacie Passon (Concussion) is directing all episodes.
Weekly TV Music Roundup (February 23, 2020)
Premiering on Friday, February 28 is the Netflix original film All the Bright Places directed by Brett Haley and starring Elle Fanning, Justice Smith, Luke Wilson, Alexandra Shipp, Keegan-Michael Key, Kelli O’Hara, Felix Mallard, Virginia Gardner, Lamar Johnson and Sofia Hasmi. The film’s original music is composed by Keegan DeWitt (Hearts Beat Loud, Divorce, The Hero, I’ll See You in My Dreams, Gemini, Her Smell). Also premiering in the U.S. on Friday is the Spanish historical drama The Endless Trench (La trinchera infinita) directed by Jon Garaño, Aitor Arregi & Jose Mari Goenaga and starring Antonio de la Torre and Belén Cuesta. Pascal Gaigne (The Giant, The Olive Tree, Remember Me) has composed the film’s original music. The drama, which tells the true story of a Republican from the Spanish Civil War who hides in his home for more than 30 years with the help of his wife, will be making its U.S. debut exclusively on Netflix.
Ramin Djawadi’s ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ Cover from ‘Westworld’ Season 3 Released
WaterTower Records has released the cover version of Guns N’ Roses’ Sweet Child O’ Mine by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Jack Ryan) from the third season of the HBO original series Westworld. First Track from ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ – The Final Season Soundtrack Released
Walt Disney Records has released the first track from the soundtrack for the seventh and final season of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Now available as a digital single is the Bad Batch Theme written by the show’s composer Kevin Kiner (Star Wars Rebels, Narcos: Mexico, Doom Patrol, CSI: Miami, Hell on Wheels). Three full soundtrack albums for the Lucasfilm Animation production are scheduled to be released on March 13, April 10 and May 4. The label has previously released a soundtrack album featuring selections of Kiner’s score from the first six seasons.
Stanley Clarke to Score Hulu’s ‘Woke’
Stanley Clarke (Boyz n the Hood, Passenger 57, The Transporter, Undercover Brother, Romeo Must Die) has been hired to score the upcoming Hulu original series Woke. The show is created by cartoonist Keith Knight & Marshall Todd (Barbershop) and stars Lamorne Morris, Blake Anderson, T. Murph and Lara Goldie. The live-action and animation hybrid is inspired by the life and art of Knight and follows an African-American cartoonist living in San Francisco, who’s finally on the cusp of mainstream success when an unexpected incident changes everything.
Cristobal Tapia de Veer Scoring HBO’s & Sky’s ‘The Third Day’
Cristobal Tapia de Veer (The Girl with All the Gifts, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency, National Treasure) is scoring the upcoming HBO and Sky limited series The Third Day. The show is created by Dennis Kelly and stars Jude Law, Naomie Harris, Katherine Waterston, Emily Watson and Paddy Considine. The drama consists of three interconnected stories, including the tale of a man who is drawn to a mysterious Island off the British coast where he encounters a group of islanders set on preserving their traditions at any cost. Kelly (Black Sea) is also executive producing the Sky Studios and Plan B Entertainment production with Dede Gardner & Jeremy Kleiner (12 Years a Slave, Moonlight) and Felix Barrett.
John Paesano to Score Showtime’s ‘Penny Dreadful: City of Angels’
John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, When the Game Stands Tall, The Star) has been tapped to score the upcoming Showtime original series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. The show is created by John Logan (Gladiator, Hugo, The Aviator) and stars Daniel Zovatto, Natalie Dormer, Kerry Bishé, Amy Madigan, Brent Spiner, Lin Shaye, Rory Kinnear, Piper Perabo, Adam Rodriguez, Thomas Kretschmann, Lorenza Izzo, Michael Gladis, Dominic Sherwood, Ethan Peck and Nathan Lane. The spin-off to Penny Dreadful (which aired between 2014 and 2016) is set in 1938 Los Angeles after a grisly murder shocks the city and follows a detective and his partner as they become embroiled in an epic story that reflects the rich history of LA. Logan is also executive producing the project with Michael Aguilar (The Crazies, Kidding).

Premiering in the U.S. today is the mini-series War of the Worlds created by Howard Overman based on H.G. Wells’ novel of the same name and starring Gabriel Byrne, Elizabeth McGovern, Léa Drucker, Adel Bencherif, Emilie de Preissac, Natasha Little, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Ty Tennant. The show’s original music is composed by David Martijn (De Dag, The Twelve). The 8-parter, which follows a group of astronomers detect a transmission from another galaxy, premiered in Europe last fall, is making its U.S. debut on Epix.
