Roc Nation Records has released the original song Sledgehammer from the upcoming sci-fi adventure Star Trek Beyond. The track is performed by Rihanna who previously contributed songs to DreamWorks Animation’s Home. Sledgehammer is now available to download as a single on Amazon. As previously reported, Varese Sarabande will release the movie’s official soundtrack album featuring the score by Michael Giacchino. Star Trek Beyond directed by Justin Lin and starring Chris Pine, Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, John Cho, Anton Yelchin, Sofia Boutella and Idris Elba will be released nationwide on July 22 by Paramount Pictures.

The details of the soundtrack album for the sci-fi adventure Star Trek Beyond have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Jurassic World, The Incredibles, Lost, Inside Out, Super 8) who previously scored J.J. Abrams’ first two Star Trek movies. The soundtrack will be released physically on July 29, 2016 by Varese Sarabande and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. San Diego Symphony to Perform Michael Giacchino’s ‘Star Trek Beyond’ Score at Film’s World Premiere at Comic-Con
Paramount Pictures, Skydance, Bad Robot and director Justin Lin have announced that the San Diego Symphony Orchestra will perform the original score for the upcoming sci-fi adventure Star Trek Beyond at the film’s world premiere at Comic-Con International on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Embarcadero Marina Park South in San Diego. The film’s music is composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, Inside Out, Jurassic World, The Incredibles) who previously scored J.J. Abrams’ 2009 reboot and its 2013 sequel Star Trek Into Darkness. As previously reported, Varese Sarabande will release the official soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score on July 22 (click here to pre-order the CD).
Hollywood Bowl 2016 Season Schedule Announced
The Hollywood Bowl has announced this summer’s season schedule, which includes a number of film music concerts. On July 7 & 8, the Bowl will host its premiere performance of the live to projection concert for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek. The Los Angeles Philharmonic will be performing the entire score from J.J. Abrams’ 2009 film composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, Inside Out, Jurassic World) live-to-picture while the movie is shown in HD on the Bowl’s big screen. On September 2-4, John Williams (Jurassic Park, E.T., Raiders of the Lost Ark) will return to the Hollywood Bowl for a concert featuring his music performed by the LA Philharmonic.

Varese Sarabande will release the official soundtrack album for the sci-fi adventure Star Trek Beyond. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost, The Incredibles, Jurassic World, Inside Out, Ratatouille) who previously scored 2009’s Star Trek and its sequel Star Trek Into Darkness. The soundtrack is set to be released on July 22, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released the soundtracks for the first two movies in the new Star trek series, including expanded deluxe editions for both installments.
Michael Giacchino to Return for ‘Star Trek Beyond’
Michael Giacchino confirmed on Twitter that he is set to compose the music for Star Trek Beyond. The film marks the composer’s third score in the series following his work on J.J. Abrams’ 2009 original film and 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness. The third installment is directed by Justin Lin (Fast & Furious, Fast Five) and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, John Cho and Anton Yelchin who reprise their roles from the previous films and are joined by Idris Elba, Bryan Cranston and Sofia Boutella.
‘Star Trek: Enterprise’ Soundtrack Collection Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a new 4-CD soundtrack collection for the sci-fi series Star Trek: Enterprise starring Scott Bakula, John Billingsley and Jolene Blalock. The album features selections from the show’s original music written by composers Dennis McCarthy (Star Trek: Generations Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Kevin Kiner (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, CSI: Miami), Jay Chattaway (Star Trek: Voyager), David Bell (Murder, She Wrote), Paul Baillargeon (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Velton Ray Bunch (Magnum, P.I., Quantum Leap), Mark McKenzie (The Greatest Miracle), John Frizzell (Alien: Resurrection, The Following) and Brian Tyler (Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World). Also included is the series’ main titles song from the first season Where My Heart Will Take Me written by Diane Warren and performed by Russell Watson.

Varese Sarabande has announced a deluxe edition for J.J. Abrams’ 2013 sci-fi action adventure Star Trek Into Darkness as the label’s latest release in the CD Club series. The 2-CD set is limited to 6000 copies and features the film’s expanded score composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, The Incredibles, Lost, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Ratatouille). Varese has previously released the regular soundtrack album when the film opened in theaters last summer and also released a deluxe edition of Giacchino’s’ first Star Trek score. Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in the CD Club series. Among the titles is a deluxe edition for Star Trek: Nemesis, the tenth feature in the series and the final movie with the Next Generation crew, directed by Stuart Baird and starring Jonathan Frakes, Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Tom Hardy and Marina Sirtis. The album includes the world premiere release of the complete score composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Planet of the Apes, Patton) who previously scored Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Final Frontier, First Contact and Insurrection. Nemesis marked his final score for the franchise. The soundtrack also features source music and alternate cues. GNP Crescendo has announced a new expanded soundtrack collector’s edition for the sci-fi film Star Trek: Insurrection. The album features the film’s complete original score composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith, including a half hour more music than the original 1998 CD and several alternates for a total running time of over 79 minutes. The soundtrack will be released on August 6, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on the label’s official website. GNP has recently released expanded soundtrack editions for other movies in the Star Trek series, including Star Trek: Generations and Star Trek: First Contact. Star Trek: Insurrection directed by Jonathan Franks and starring himself, as well as Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, F. Murray Abraham, Donna Murphy and Anthony Zerbe marked the ninth feature film of the franchise.
